Baby Dutra Sakai's Registry

Arrival Date February 28, 2021

We are so excited to welcome our first child into the world. As many of you know, it was a struggle for us to get to this point. Along the way, Alanna nearly died from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. We feel strongly that the reason she survived the ordeal had a lot to do with race, class, and privilege. The gravity of that still weighs on us. As such, we're hoping that those who wish to celebrate this impending birth and honor our lost baby will make a charitable contribution to an organization that supports maternal care and birth equality.

We are fortunate to be able to provide all necessary items for our baby, so all the basics are covered. If you'd like to send us something beyond those basics, we would love any of the following:

* Books! We both grew up loving storytime and look forward to sharing this tradition with our daughter

* Lovevery Subscriptions! We are excited about these toy kits and have set up a registry to fund an ongoing subscription for toy deliveries as she ages and a play mat/gym

* Recommendations! If there were any must-have items from your child-raising experience, please let us know so we can make sure we've got them on hand

* Warm wishes, advice, and love! We'll be compiling a book of these to help us through the long nights, rough moments, and to share with our daughter. You can share those thoughts here: forms.gle/HMsvgJ5wMAZYRuer6
