Baby Ruth Registry

Arrival Date October 25, 2019

Welcome to our registry! We appreciate your generosity and support as we welcome our little one in October.

If this is your first time using a Babylist registry, here are a few tips: Everything is listed for easy online shopping. You can still purchase items at the store, but you will not find my name on a registry at any stores. You might also want to check for item availability at your store location before you shop in person if you don't want to wait for delivery. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call or text Lainey 816-588-3686.

Gifts purchased online can be shipped straight to Dolores' house where the shower will be held. Babylist has this address saved for our registry already!

Here are some of things that are important to us, which you will see reflected in the registry. We value earth-conscious and economic-conscious choices as we want the next generation, including our child to be able to live long, healthy lives:

- Experiences over stuff. We would rather invest our time and money into making memories and sharing time together than accumulating stuff. We have listed some experiences on the registry that we would love to share with you whether or not you also contribute a physical gift.

- Minimal waste. Try reusing a bag or purchasing a reusable bag that you can use again or basket that we can use again or using newspaper to wrap instead of wrapping paper. If you buy online and have the gift sent directly to the shower, then you don't have to worry about wrapping at all!

- Shopping second-hand. We are big believers in borrowing and purchasing second-hand items when possible (we use Facebook Marketplace a lot). If you are able to find any items second-hand similar to those on our registry, or if you have hand-me-downs, we will gladly accept! Make sure to still claim the gift so that others will know that it's covered.

- Gender-neutral items. We prefer both the color scheme and versatility of gender-neutral items. We are looking forward to raising our child in a way that allows them the freedom to live a life that they love without the bounds of gender norms. Some of our favorite colors are green and grey--which we think will look great on baby, too!

- Supporting ethical corporations. We have researched the brands that are represented on the registry. Though not perfect, we believe that they are (for the most part) striving to foster healthy work environments and we prefer supporting them over many more popular brands that perpetuate labor and environmental exploitation.

**A note about clothes. We know baby clothes are adorable and hard to resist. Please use the clothes we have listed on the registry to get a sense of our style preferences if you purchase outside of the registry. We like neutral colors with some patterns or animal accents, as you'll see**

Thank you so much for supporting our family. If any of this is out of your comfort zone, we would love to share more about why we believe what we believe through conversation. Much love, Chris & Lainey
