Invasion of the Adventure Baby

Arrival Date January 3, 2020

Surprise! Surprise for everyone! Dan and I are having ourselves a baby... A human baby!

So! Many! Exclamations! ! ! ! !

On May 6th, after living in Colorado near Alaine for four months, Dan made his expected journey back to St. Paul, MN. 5 days later, with wide eyes and a wee bit of slack-jaw, Alaine discovered her pregnancy... Stellar timing, we know.

So anyhoo, here we are with the Invasion of the Adventure Baby. (Of course we don't know who our child will be yet, but we won't deny our speculations.)

Alaine is 22 weeks currently (August 31st, 2019), due date is estimated to be January 3rd, 2020. Whether adventure baby is a he or a she is a secret, even to us. We're definitely into gender neutral colors and themes!

We have listed a few essentials that will be extremely useful to have before Jan. 3rd, and a few items that would likely be handy but are not "must haves", like that sturdy stroller for slushy runs when adventure baby is ready. Look in the notes/description for each item to learn which items are most important to us 😄. Anything that Alaine can make with a few yards of decent fabric will be handmade, such as cloth diapers, burp rags, bibs, changing mat, etc., so you won't be finding those items on the registry for that reason.

We have also added a Cash Fund to the registry. This part of our registry will be especially helpful; we have been living apart and paying separate living expenses while trying to stow away as much moola as we can spare for the upcoming move and new housing costs. Alaine's seasonal job ends in November, followed by the move across states into new housing with Dan come December. At this point we will be preparing for the baby on one income, as building a safe space for a new baby and stocking the freezer full of meals will be Alaine's full time job in December. After baby arrives, Alaine will continue to stay at home with the lil s/he, while Dan serves as the solo baker of bread.

Many many many thanks to all for your support! And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask 😄. We are very much looking forward to our cozy, winter baby and to daydreaming about sleep and to all the other glamorous aspects of parenting!
