Baby Bell-Allen

Arrival Date June 24, 2020

Hello friends and family! I want to thank you for all your love and support on this rather exciting, and unexpected, adventure we have embarked upon!

UPDATE: ALL THE BELOW IS STILL THE CASE BUT I AM VERY AWARE THAT THRIFTING IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE NOW! I AM GOING TO LINK SOME THINGS TO A CONSIGNMENT SHOP HERE IN ASHEVILLE (A FRIEND OF A FRIEND) WHO IS DOING DELIVERIES. IT WOULD BE NOT ONLY HELPING A SMALL BUSINESS BUT ALSO BEING MORE GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE. https://thelittlestbirds.com/ OR GO TO INSTAGRAM @thelittlestbirfsasheville FOR PICTURES OF AVAILABLE CLOTHESAND OTHER ITEMS!

As a venturing minimalist and go-green advocate, I am trying to keep our footprint small and the unnecessary clutter to a minimum! With this in mind, here are the things that are most important to me.

1. We are keeping the sex a surprise! So gender neutral, please! I am going with a Blue Ridge Mountains/forest/🦊 theme. So, boy or girl, I am totally cool with most colors!

2. Unless otherwise specified, I would really appreciate getting as much as possible second hand or gently used. You can search around your house, your friends' house, or online. Some great options are Poshmark, offer up, Mercari, eBay, and sites like Facebook market place! I put notes on most of the items, which are linked to sites like amazon. Linking to the used sites would just bring up sold items 😦 Sorry to make it difficult for ya'll. I love you!! (Here is a how to guide https://www.babylist.com/hello-baby/used-baby-gear )

3. I am leaning towards mostly non-plastic. This includes baby bottles, reusable baby items, and toys. I would like mostly wood, heirloom, interactive and learning toys!! All these can be lightly used.

4. For the time being, I will not be having a separate room or nursery for the baby and will be co-sleeping until breastfeeding slows down. So, I will not be looking for a crib or furniture for the baby for quite a while.

5. I am doing cloth diapers! Luckily I will have my very experienced mother around to me get a system in place!! I would like the diapers to be bought used as they are expensive and so durable. ---Having some backup disposable diapers in a few sizes probably wouldn't hurt though!

6. If you are low on funds, but still want to contribute to our lil' nugget there are options within for favors which I would love just as much as stuff for sure!!!

Again thank you for all you guys are doing!! Honestly, the support we have already received has been overwhelming. I can't wait for us all to meet our little nugget!!!
