What weabout it
A comfortable and soft pillow to help hold your baby when you nurse and give your arms a break.

Description

Nursing pillows prop your baby up next to your breast so your arms don’t get as tired from holding them. (And it’s nice to have a hand free to check your phone.) For a lot of people, their nursing pillow is one of their most-used baby products!

And the Boppy is one of the most popular nursing pillows around. This pillow is sold without a cover, but you can also buy it with a cover included or purchase covers that are water resistant or organic. It’s wise to have a cover to protect the pillow from spills, even two covers so you can still use it while the cover is in the wash.

The Boppy is quicker and more convenient to use than other nursing pillows because you don’t latch it behind your back. (Of course, that means the Boppy is also a little more likely to slip out of place, so the latched pillows can be good too). Another nice thing about the Boppy is it’s multipurpose. Besides being used for nursing, this pillow can also be used to prop your baby, give your baby tummy time, or help them learn to sit. Babies tend to be happier when they can see what is going on: if you lean them against the Boppy they can watch you instead of the ceiling (ceilings are so boring). Note: it’s designed for baby’s supervised awake time.

Take note: Boppy may not be the best nursing pillow for people who are tall or have long torsos, because it’s a very squishy pillow while other nursing pillows are taller and more rigid. If you’re tall, you may find yourself hunching with the Boppy, which defeats its ergonomic benefits. If you don’t have a long torso, chances are you’ll find the Boppy super comfortable—it really is one of the most popular nursing pillows out there. And the covers are seriously cute.

You can put the entire pillow in your washer (cold water, delicate cycle) and in your dryer (low heat). One trick for making sure the pillow keeps its shape in the dryer is to wrap a tennis ball in a pillowcase and add it into the dryer with the Boppy. The tennis ball will pummel the Boppy and knock the stuffing back into place.

I tried to use it in the first few days of my babe's life but it felt like more work to wrap it around my waist (and keep it there) than to just nurse without it. I'm a size 4. I ended up just putting a pillow under my arm until baby was old enough to just hold comfortably.

The Boppy has been helpful throughout many different phases. At first it was great for nursing and then great for positioning the baby, and now we are using it as sitting support/bumper if he tips over. It has definitely been one of the few items that has transitioned well during the first several months.

BUY THIS! It's a 100% must-have that we use EVERY SINGLE DAY still at 8 months and I didn't even use it for nursing!

It does the job, but doesn’t go above or beyond what’s needed.

The pillow wasn’t easy for positioning, I always had to prop it up with other pillows which made latching and holding tough. My lactation consultant recommended My Brest Friend pillow which was 100 times better.

My baby was too tiny for the Boppy. He was 5lb 8oz at birth. It took us a few months to be big enough to use it. He uses it more at 8 months that as an newborn.

I use this thing multiple times a day. It helps keep the baby in a position while nursing that causes less strain on mom. It is also great for tummy time.

This item is on almost every “must have” baby list, but for me I didn’t really use it. Honestly a regular pillow worked just as well and was easier to grab.
