Description

One of the first things your doctor will mention is that you can’t microwave milk to give to your baby because it can get hot spots that will scald your baby’s mouth. (Yikes!) So how do you warm up milk? Some parents just put a bottle in a bowl of warm water and wait for it to warm, but some find a bottle warmer that also uses warm water to be really useful. With a bottle warmer, the process is straightforward and you know the milk is at the right temp.

How does the Dr. Brown’s stack up? This steam-based warmer has a digital display that shows you just how much longer you have left until a bottle or a baby food jar is done heating up. And the timer sounds a loud beep when the heating cycle is complete so no matter where you are in the house, you know when it’s done.

Once you take the meal out, you can use the warmer right away to heat something else too (unlike some warmers that require a cool-down period before reuse). If you get distracted - something that happens a lot with little ones around - the warmer will automatically shutdown after 10 minutes.

It also has a nice water reservoir, so you can fill it up with enough water to heat 12 bottles and don’t have to constantly refill it.

The downside? The warmer doesn’t fit extra-wide, rounder-shaped bottles and it’s a pain to clean. To minimize the hassle of trying to clean nearly unreachable parts, it’s best to use only distilled water with this warmer.

Did not heat bottles consistently. Same bottle same amount would take different times to actually heat enough. We tried Dr Brown bottles, Medela, and Avent.

It doesn’t heat the milk too much. Easy to use.

Inconsistent warming, even when programmed for the same amount of time.

The bottle warmer overall is great! It warms up the milk evenly which I love. However, it takes a little too long (about 5-7mins). Also, the container where the water goes is very hard to clean, I've tried what feels like everything and nothing works. The fact that I couldn't clean it properly grossed me out a bit and I do not use it at all anymore. I actually now have the Baby Brezza and it is life changing.

I bought this before baby came and haven’t used it yet at 8 months. Not once yet.

It has a running timer, is quick, and warms up the bottle evenly.

The water dispenser is annoying to refill and spills water everywhere. I used to have the old one and it was a much better design. I reached out to Dr. Brown's and never heard back.

You have to clean the machine multiple times a week. Also make sure to leave the top open after each use as it gets mildew inside. It wasn't worth the work needed and didn't heat bottles up that quick.

You have to clean it often, it gets moldy.
