What weabout it
Popular for preventing colic and spit-up, this feeding system has everything needed for the first six months at least.

About this Product
  • 5 bottles in two sizes
  • 2 nipple types (For newborns and older babies)
  • Cleaning brushes and travel caps included

The unique venting system on Dr. Brown’s bottles eliminates air bubbles during feeding (which can make newborns bloated and uncomfortable) and maintains nutrients that normally breakdown when exposed to oxygen.

The bottles have the traditional, narrow shape, and getting all the parts clean requires a special brush that’s included in the kit. Travel caps, also in the kit, are lids you screw onto the bottle neck for when you’re on the go. Just pack the nipple and the two-part vent insert for when it’s time to eat.

When newborns first start bottle feeding, doctors recommend using a “slow flow” nipple (also called Level 1), so that the baby doesn’t get too much milk at once. Also if you are switching back and forth from breast to bottle, slow flow nipples can prevent babies from getting too attached to the bottle. Around three months old, your baby will probably be ready to graduate to Level 2. This starter kit includes 5 Level 1 nipples and 2 Level 2 nipples, so you will be all set for six months.

Although Dr. Brown’s bottles are a standout when it comes to battling colic and other tummy woes associated with too much air intake, it’s a process to clean all the parts and if you don’t put everything back together just so, they can leak.

Way too many parts. Nothing special about these bottles and not worth all the parts at all.

Has all you need. Recommended bottles by night nurse.

I hate having to clean so many parts!! I think the Dr. Browns set with the green inserts are better because when the baby gets older you don't have to clean as many parts. The size of the bottle is nice because you can fit more formula powder in and shake it up easily.

Pain in the butt to clean and didn't really help with gas like it claims.

Best bottles out there. Helped with gassy newborn. Easy to pace feed with breastfed babies.

Baby took to the bottle without any trouble and still nurses on breast. If you are starting out the bottle, I would try with preemie nipple and then transition to 1 when they are older and have gotten use to taking a bottle. The preemie nipple is slow flow so that it mimics nursing and baby will do both.

My son spits up a lot, and these bottles have worked great for him and I believe they have helped minimize spit up. We tried one other brand that claimed slow flow, and he choked trying to drink out of those and spit up a huge amount immediately after finishing the bottle. With Dr. Browns, we've never had that problem. Love these bottles!

I wish we’d started with these bottles. We used several brands before buying these, but they work by far the best. They’re small enough that my baby can get her hands around them and support them herself, and they have a vent system that really helped with gas. Only downsides are you can’t take them completely apart to clean them (like Mam bottles) and they leak pretty much no matter what (worse than a lot of others).

These were the only bottles that helped our sons’ reflux.
