What weabout it
Made with breathable mesh for warm climates, this insert has a removable sitting pillow boosts newborns up to a safe height in the carrier.

About this Product
  • Made of light and airy mesh fabric
  • Works with any Ergobaby carrier
  • Foldover neck cushion
  • Padded back panel and side straps to attach insert to baby carrier
  • Removable base pillow to adjust baby’s height in carrier

This insert gives your wee one the lift she needs to be safe, and feel secure, in an Ergobaby carrier from day one. (The newer Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier doesn’t require an infant insert, but the Ergobaby Original and 360 require one for babies who are under 12 lbs.)

The pillow at the base acts like a booster seat, placing your newborn higher on your torso where you can easily monitor her, and keeping her in an ergonomic M-shape position.

This insert is made with a lightweight, breathable mesh fabric that will help ensure air flow to avoid overheating. Still, it can get hot in there, so during the summer months or in warm climates, dress your baby lightly. The thicker cotton Easy Snug insert may be a better choice for colder climates.

  • Weight range: 7 - 12 lbs
  • Cotton rim, polyester mesh
  • Machine washable

Essential for use of Ergo when baby is small.

Some models don't require an insert, which means one less thing kicking after baby outgrows it in the months.

Our babe ran very hot as a newborn, and inside the infant insert, she heated up so quickly. I also found it a little awkward to comfortably fold her into the insert. I ended up making a simple ring sling and using that while she was very small.

The material is not very breathable so I found myself wearing her around the house in a bathing suit to try and keep us both cool. Thankfully, the dogs ended up getting a hold of the pillow at the bottom so we will now be trying the Ergo Mesh Infant Insert with the next baby!

Our baby was born in June and using the insert in the heat seemed way too hot for her. It's heavily padded and she would slip down into the padding, so I was constantly worried that she was overheating or couldn't breath. We never actually used it and instead used a soft structured carrier until she could fit the Ergobaby carrier without the insert.
