What weabout it
Halo’s mid-line, swiveling bedside sleeper and bassinet has soothing sounds and vibrations

About this Product
  • 360 swivel and adjustable stand lets you position your baby just right
  • Space-saving design with a base that tucks under the bed
  • Retractable wall lowers and returns to make tending to baby from bed, easy
  • “Soothing Center” has a night light, lullabies, nature sounds, and vibration

With Halo’s bedside sleeper bassinet, your baby can be near you at night, but secure in their own defined space—it’s perfect for parents who want closeness but don’t feel comfortable co-sleeping. Use the 360 degree swivel to move the bassinet in next to you when you’re sleeping, then swivel it away so you can get out of bed more easily in the morning. The retractable, locking side wall lowers to make it convenient to tend to baby from bed (especially helpful for nighttime nursing or moms recovering from C-sections).

The Premiere model has a Soothing Center with a nightlight, three lullabies, three nature and womb sounds, two levels of vibration, and a nursing timer with auto shutoff. Two storage pockets help keep necessities close at hand.

The base is heavy and extremely sturdy, yet it tucks under the bed, so the bassinet works well even in small spaces. Parents find that the base is too heavy to make the bassinet portable. Once you get it set up, it’s probably staying where it is. The good news: most find it’s too heavy to be accidentally tipped by a pet, a toddler, or even a grownup.

Unlike larger cribs that do not come with mattress, the Bassinest includes a mattress and coordinating fitted sheet. It’s probably worthwhile to get a couple extra sheets in case of nighttime accidents and consider a waterproof mattress pad, too.

There are two other Bassinests in this line from Halo: the Essentia which is a barebones model without a light or Soothing Center, and the Luxe Plus which includes the Soothing Center, a floor light and a caddy (check out the video below to see more).

This bassinet was perfect for us. We set it up in our bedroom and swivels back and forth from our bed. The height is adjustable, which made it super easy to pull her close to us at night and roll over to check on her, while keeping her safe in her own "space". During the first few months the vibrating feature was clutch - it would help her to fall back asleep and give us 30 more minutes of rest. The nightlight feature is great too. We used a separate sound machine but the bassinet also has white noise/sounds too. I would recommend setting it up in the room where it will be used because it is quite heavy.

It lets you keep your baby close, but still in their own safe space.

Don't get me wrong, this is a wonderful bassinet and I love Halo product. However, I thought I would utilize the features more than I did. The vibration feature was pretty loud and we all found it a bit distracting, and the light shined right in her face, so she woke up if I didn't put a tissue or something over the light to dim it. I also didn't use the breastfeeding feature. I thought I would love having the bending arm feature, but I found it hard to leverage the baby is any position that utilized the feature, and I ended up sitting up or standing up to lay her gently in the bassinet. I loved the 360 swivel, but otherwise, I might recommend a less expensive bassinet.

Our baby was not a fan of the halo. I have a friend who’s baby loved it, another friends baby did not like it. I think because all babies are different and it’s hard to say what your baby will like. The rock n play worked wonders for us.

It gave us a complete sense of security. Our little one got to sleep with us but without the fear of falling off the bed or rolling over on him. Invaluable!

Ease of access from bed, size, do not love the weight of it but understand the necessity.

The bassinet did not work at all. Our daughter screamed every time we put her in it. Pack and plays and the SNOO were significantly better.

Our baby hated it. It’s extremely heavy and you can really move it easily if needed. It also hard to lay the baby down in the bassinet even though it looks so easy from your bed. Our baby also turned herself horizontally in it and was straining her neck the first few weeks we had it. It may be great for others but our little one was not a fan.
