Best New Products of 2018

While many of our favorite baby products are the tried and true, every year there’s new gear that is destined to set the new standard.

Here’s the fresh gear of 2018 that raises the bar.

One Stroller to Rule Them All

The first stroller from one of the best carrier brands, the Ergobaby 180 Reversible Stroller offers the best features of high-end strollers at a reasonable price. With a one-handed fold, reversible handlebar and self-standing fold, this stroller is going to become the new must-have stroller. Check out our full review for the full scoop.

Pampers Goes Natural

Created by a mom of preemie twins, the Pampers Pure Protection Diapers have all the bonuses of a natural diaper (no fragrances, chlorine bleaching or parabens) at a better price with the quality families expect from Pampers.

With Wipes, Too

To go with the new diapers, Pampers also introduced an eco wipe called Aqua Pure. How pure are they? They are made of 99-percent water, and the other one percent are gentle cleansers with PH-balancing ingredients. Pretty smooth.

Car Seat Reminds You When Baby Is Still in the Car

Cybex’s SensorSafe 2.0 Technology sends alerts to your phone when a child is left in a car. It even sends alerts based on the car’s temperature too. The Sirona M is the first convertible car seat with this technology built in. With side-impact protection, adjustable headrest with no-rethread harness and a 40-lb rear-facing weight limit, it’s also a great all-around convertible car seat.

Packing Cubes Come to Diaper Bags

Frequent travelers swear by packing cubes for staying organized no matter where they land. Petunia Pickle Bottom has brought the trend to diaper bags with their new Intermix System. The base grid system (pictured here) can be used as a diaper caddy at home, as a stroller organizer or in a made-to-match diaper bag that fits the whole kit ‘n caboodle. The InterMix backpack has plenty of room for the grid in the bottom, or opt for the Axis which has a zip-open compartment at the bottom for the grid. You’ll never wonder where that extra paci is again.

Travel Stroller with the Goods

Back in 2015, the GB Pockit made waves for having one of the smallest stroller folds. It fit in overhead bins, and parents loved it! This Pockit Plus has the same small fold and is lightweight, but you can snap the Cybex infant car seat on to it, too, so it can be used from birth. It also has a bigger sunshade and a reclinable seat. Considering it’s still under $250, this is a great addition to your travel stroller options.

Wrap and Carrier in One

In a breathable material that’s kind of like yoga pants, the new Boppy ComfyFit Carrier has a buckled strap that goes around your waist, along with shoulder straps and extra wings to help it fit tightly like a wrap. It also has a little fanny pack where you can store your essentials if you want to keep your wallet and phone close by. It can be used from newborn (8 lbs) to 35 lbs.

Finally a Compact Booster Seat

Kids have to be in car seats for a long time. So it’s completely natural to be annoyed that you are still flying to grandma’s with a massive car seat in tow when your little one hits four- or five-years old. Graco’s new TurboBooster TakeAlong folds up to make it easier to travel when your kid still needs a booster seat, or even just hand to a friend for an after-school playdate. It even has cup holders that swivel in and out, and includes a carry bag for easy portability. (They also have a new highback version that can convert into a backless one, too.)

Discreet, Hands-Free Pumping

Hands-free Freemie collection cups that connect to your breast pump have been around for a while, but this year they teamed up with Nuk to create a portable pump system. The pump can fit in your pocket, and the collection cups can tuck into your bra, so you can have discreet, hands-free pumping. Considering this might be your second pump, the price point is friendly, too.

Minnie, Mickey and Hello Kitty, Oh My!

This isn’t about just one carrier. Our favorite carrier companies are teaming up with other brands to create fun new prints that every parent can enjoy. From the LILLEbaby x Disney collab featured here to Ergobaby x Hello Kitty and Baby Tula x Oh Joy, there are so many prints to choose from we have trouble picking just one.
