Emily & Nick's Baby Registry
Arrival Date November 24, 2023
We are so excited for this next chapter, and know we are so blessed to have you all along for the ride with us!
We may have gotten click happy adding stuff to the registry, but that's really for our benefit of the discount Amazon gives us to finish purchasing things on our registry later on.
We have marked our "must haves", but we know our biggest need, and possibly biggest expense, will be diapers. We have chosen to continue cloth diapering, so luckily the expense will only be one time!
Cloth diapering has come a long way and changed so much in the last couple of decades, so if you don't have recent experience with the world of cloth diapers and your search results are overwhelming, PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out to us. Additionally, if it helps, we have written about products we preferred last time and others we are looking forward to trying this go around :
We have found that we prefer prefolds and covers/shells. Not only are covers less expensive than pockets or AIO (All In Ones), covers can typically be reused multiple times before needing to swap out to a new one, only needing to change the prefold or inserts most times. The exception to this is going to be the newborn phase. Babies are typically too tiny for the one size adjustable diapers during the newborn stage and with a planned c-section recovery ahead of us, newborn AIO (All In Ones) may make life that much simpler, granted, pricier. While Kanga Care is the brand we are most looking forward to exploring this time, we are not picky on the brands, and there are many options listed here on our registry.
One key phrase to look for in covers is "double gussets". This simple feature was our favorite to help keep from having leaks around the legs.
We still plan to use disposable wipes, preferring the unscented Honest brand wipes.
To wash diapers we liked using regular Tide powder the best last time around, but we are open to trying cloth diaper specific detergents as well.
