What’s on Hayley and Derek Hough’s Baby Registry?
From a smart bassinet to safety gear, here’s what the parents-to-be are registering for.

Building a baby registry can feel like a mix of pure joy and pure chaos—especially when the due date is right around the corner. For Hayley and Derek Hough (of Dancing with the Stars fame), that meant a last-minute visit to the Babylist Showroom to put the finishing touches on their own registry.
And even during those final prep moments, Hayley said pregnancy has been more joyful than she anticipated.
“Nobody prepared me for the pleasantness,” she shared.
Derek, in full supportive-partner mode, agreed.
“She’s been unbelievable. She’s been like a little Buddha zen walking around with butterflies flying around.”
They started with big-ticket gear like the UPPAbaby Vista V3 travel system, testing out the setup; Derek was a big fan of the easy click-in car seat and compact fold while Hayley looked forward to getting baby in and out of the system with a handy car seat buckle release tool.
Their registry decisions weren’t all about function, though. They also got a peek at what newborn life might feel like once baby’s home, starting with stylish sleep essentials. For their bedtime routine, Hayley loved the cozy Gerber PJs, including their wearable blankets. “They’re so cute,” she gushed. And since she loves minimalist design and neutral everything for their baby, she was also drawn to the sleek Maxi-Cosi Starling bassinet right away.
“So high tech, just aesthetically pleasing,” she said.
Derek, meanwhile, was fascinated by the smart features: the bassinet uses CryAssist technology that senses different kinds of fussiness and responds automatically with soothing motions and sounds.
“Watching it makes me wanna fall asleep right now,” he joked.
Their calm, playful energy showed up in every part of getting ready for baby—including the nursery.
“The fact that we are very close to the birth of our baby and we don’t have our nursery done should be stressing me out like crazy and it’s not,” she said. “So I think pregnancy has taught me to be more calm and chill in life.”
Still, calm doesn’t mean unprepared. Safety was a big priority for them, especially when Hayley spotted the LifeVac Home Kit, an easy-to-use anti-choking device.
“I already think I have like three [LifeVac] home kits on my registry because I definitely need those in all different places and one for each of our cars.”
As their showroom visit wrapped up, the conversation naturally shifted from baby stuff to the bigger picture: becoming parents. Hayley didn’t even blink at what she’s most excited about.
“I’m excited to see him as a dad,” she said.
Derek’s reply captured the mix of awe and anticipation that often shows up right before everything changes.
“You’re gonna be the best mama,” he replied. “I’ve already lived such a full life and then there’s this whole other chapter that’s gonna be the most important chapter….I’m also excited to have no idea what’s gonna happen.”
Hayley nodded right along with that spirit.
“And to figure it all out.”
