The Gear Helping Alex and Jon Settle Into New Parent Life

After a two-year journey shaped by hoping and waiting, TikTok creators Alex Madison and Jon Bouffard are finally home with their daughter, Lucy Grey. And according to the couple, their new life with baby feels different in the best possible sense.

“Honestly, everything has changed in the most beautiful way,” Alex says. What caught them off guard wasn’t just the love, but how quickly they settled into being her parents—even through the not-so-easy moments.

“We never thought we’d be so happy to be covered in someone else’s puke,” they laugh. “We knew we would love her, but the way she completely changed our hearts—that’s something no one can prepare you for. She’s brought this joy into our home that we didn’t even realize we were missing.”

In the whirlwind of newborn life, Alex and Jon quickly discovered how much the right gear can make a difference. Their Nuna PIPA Urbn Flex System became a part of their daily routine almost immediately.

“As first-time parents, simplicity is everything,” Jon explains. “The ease of clicking the PIPA Urbn in and out without a base felt too good to be true. It made even the smallest outings feel doable and way less overwhelming.”

Because it’s lightweight and easy to maneuver, the system has given them newfound confidence when venturing out as a family, whether it’s a quick walk, a pediatrician visit or grabbing dinner.

“Leaving the house with a new baby can be nerve-wracking,” says Alex. “Not having a bulky, heavy stroller helps lessen the chaos and stress.”

The couple also loves that the system will grow with Lucy, so they won’t need to worry about swapping gear anytime soon; with the Flex stroller seat, it goes from newborn rides to baby and toddler strolls. “With everything we’re juggling, not having to think about what we’ll need six months from now is huge,” Alex shares. But gear isn’t the only thing that’s made their new parent journey a little smoother. Nuna’s soft, well-made wardrobe pieces for parents and babies have become everyday favorites.

“We’re genuinely obsessed,” Alex says. “The fabrics are buttery soft and hold up so well to constant washing and spit-ups. It feels like Nuna thought about the real day-to-day of parenting.”

Her personal favorite? The Cashmere Coat she says “feels elevated yet functional.” She also loves that there’s a grown-up version for mommy-and-me matching moments. As for Lucy’s everyday wear, the magnetic onesies have made middle-of-the night changes so much easier: “now it’s literally click, click, done,” Alex shares.

There’ll be a lot more for them to learn as Lucy grows, but for now, the one lesson they’d share with all new parents is simple: choose things that make your life simpler.

“As first time parents, it’s easy to get swept up in aesthetics or what everyone else is using,” they admit. “But what matters most is: Is it easy? Is it functional? Does it grow with your baby? Does it reduce stress? The PIPA Urbn Flex System and clothes make life with Lucy easier. Those little conveniences add up in a big way.”
