Overview
Description
The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton and a touch of elastane. It’s firm enough to restrict the startle reflex while still allowing movement and stretch, including moving their hands into a self-settling position. When baby shows signs of rolling, arm poppers transition the Cocoon from an arms-in swaddle to arms-out sleeping bag. The bell-shaped design is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as being hip-healthy, and promotes proper joint development.
The soft, breathable organic cotton is certified non-toxic, dyed with water-based dyes and gentle on skin prone to eczema. A two-way zipper allows for easy-access diaper changes without fully unswaddling baby.
It’s TOG rated for warmth, keeping baby snug and securely swaddled without the need for additional blankets. (TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade: the lower the TOG rating, the lighter the fabric and the higher the rating, the more padded and insulated.) The 2.5 TOG rating is ideal for room temperatures 63-73°F—you can layer up underneath as needed, and follow the included room thermometer/what to wear guide.

Sizing runs small
Disappointed as I purchased this for my 5 week old who is only 4 kilo and the bag is too small for him.

Sizing is very inconsistent
I recently purchased an additional swaddle suit in 2.5 TOG to get us through the winter. We already own two others in the same TOG and the sizing is completely different with the newer one being larger and therefore not suitable for my son for a while yet when the higher TOG will no longer be required. It’s not possible to try it on your child without removing all the packaging as they send it on a hanger which means a return isn’t possible.
The product itself appears to be good quality and soft fabric but the sizing cannot be relied on to be the same and the price is high given this.

Great fit for our 4kg newborn - easy to get on with her knees up. Happy to have found something warm that’s not got synthetic materials. We paired it with the cardigan so we can have her arms up or out and free. It’s much better than the older, 2nd hand ergo pouch a friend gave us, which was a smaller, tighter, shorter fit

Great quality. Runs small
My baby would never accept swaddling so we moved into these straight away. Had a size 000 and has fit him since week 2. These run on the smaller side so our little man has almost outgrown at 6 weeks old. Very expensive but will keep for next bubb

Great product
Great product. My daughter sleeps well in these. I find it stops her startle reflex and she sleeps better

Coming apart
I love this bag—we use it in size 0 (6-12 months) with arms out and it fits well around neck and arms, unlike (strangely) the 3-12 month size bags, which are too loose But I’m very sad to report that within a week or so of use, the seam down the zip is coming undone. It hasn’t even been through the wash! I’d hoped for higher quality.
