Overview
Description
Breathable and washable, the Newton Baby Deluxe Travel Crib and Playard offers an extra large surface area for an extended use with lots of room for sleep and play.
It’s made with the same patented Wovenaire technology as their popular crib mattress with 90% air and 10% food-grade polymer for firmness, comfort and support. A breathable mesh surround provides unhindered airflow and visibility, and the exterior zipper allows easy side access. For travel, it has a compact folded design with travel bag included.
Soft and snug sheets and an optional bassinet attachment (for versatility during baby’s first months) are sold separately.

Difficult to pack back up
I was excited to purchase this play yard / travel crib because we have the newton mattress and love it. Unfortunately I am disappointed with the play yard / travel crib because it is SO difficult to put away to pack back up! It took 15 plus minutes and 3 adults trying to figure out how it folded up correctly. The instructions were not helpful and same with the video online. It should not be that big of a pain to pack away. The quality is good and it looks nicer than a pack and play, but I would not recommend. There’s likely other options that are just as good and easier to put away.

Do not recommend this
It’s too bulky and since the mattress sits directly on the ground it’s really hard to get baby in and out. My biggest baby purchase regret!

Great travel crib
Flew with this to Palm Springs with my 4. 5 month old and I’m so glad I did! Easy to put together and easy to take apart. We checked it on the flight. One less thing to worry about since we use a Newton mattress at home as well.

Damage to mattress cover
I have the Newton standard crib mattress and 2023 Travel Crib & Play Yard. I recently washed the cover for the play yard mattress, and was surprised it got damaged in the wash, despite washing in gentle cycle and nothing else being in the machine. (I’ve washed the crib mattress cover several times and never had any issues. ) I suspect the “velcro” security strap is what caused the damage, although obviously there’s no way to wash without including the attached sewed-on straps. Disappointed by the travel crib and play yard
I was really excited to purchase the travel crib and play yard! I love the peace of mind that comes with the Newton products but honestly, I hate the travel crib and play yard and so does my baby. It is not easy to set up or take down, the velcro is painful, the bottom is ROCK solid and utterly uncomfortable. I should have known the first night we were away and we attempted to have our baby, who sleeps through the night, sleep in the travel crib and play yard. He slept so horribly that I had to…

Avoid at all costs
Trash product. Directions are anything but clear and it takes mental gymnastics to dissemble. Mattress is not stable or comfortable and the whole thing is bulky and does not conveniently fold. There’s a multitude of better options out there.

Very Disappointed
I love the other Newton products we have purchased which is what led us to purchase this travel crib but it is terrible. We purchased it for full price and we can’t even use it. It markets as being safer for sleep than other travel cribs and play yards but the piece that secures the mattress frequently is dislodged from under the leg of the travel crib. It’s also extremely difficult to put together.

Terrible design
This is possibly the worst designed pack and play on the market. Every other pack and play can be disassembled in 2 minutes, but this one took me over 20 minutes of pulling and tugging on the legs before I could get it packed away. It wasn’t necessary to re-create the wheel here, this design is terrible. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand.

Love this travel bassinet!
Honestly its better than my Halo bassinet that I use as my primary one! Very good quality and my baby loves it. Plenty of room to grow and get use out of it and love that it allows you to rock it to soothe back to sleep.

Perfect for Safe Sleep and Play
Newton is the only brand I trust for safe sleeping arrangements for my (not so) little guy. Having the bassinet and Newtown mattress made the Play Yard a no brainer for a seamless sleep transition and peace of mind for us as parents. We love the versatility of having the same level of safety in a play area.
