Description

This is one of the nicest swing/rocker combos from baby giant Graco. It is allows you to position the seat in three different ways so baby can sway side-to-side or front-to-back. And the rocker can be removed so you can bring it around the house with you. It’s so great, it got enough votes from parents to win its way onto our Best Bouncers and Swings guide.

What’s the difference between a rocker and a swing anyway? Swings have machine-powered motion and lots of settings. Rockers respond to your baby’s movement or a push from a parent and are powered mainly by inertia. Rockers are easier to move around the house, whereas a swing is basically a new piece of furniture.

What else is there to the Duet Soothe? In addition to the multi-direction swing, the rocker has two vibration settings to keep baby calm and 15 songs and sounds. A harness keeps babies secure. The overhead bar suspends detachable plush toys.

This swing does occupy a lot of space, so if you live in tighter quarters consider a bouncer that collapses flat like the BabyBjorn Balance Bouncer or a smaller swing like Graco’s Cozy Duet.

Note: The motor is powered by four C batteries. Designed for babies 25 pounds and under, but the average baby will tire of it before it outgrows it.

The vibrate function is battery operated and the battery cage rattles very loudly when it's being used. We had to tightly tape the cage. It’s nice, but has a large footprint. My baby also didn’t like it much when he was smaller. He preferred the Graco Glider LX, which was much smaller and less expensive. Now that he is bigger (8 months but closer to the size of a 1 year old) he is ok with the duet soothe and the glider, despite its weight limits, doesn’t have enough power to get his 20 lb body swinging.

Baby never really took to it so it barely got used.

This is a high quality product for a reasonable price. It worked well to soothe baby when she was a newborn and still works for naps now that she’s 9 months. I love the gender neutral design as we plan to re-use this when we add to our family in the future!

It is so loud! It clicks, squeaks, whirrs and is not soothing at all. We couldn’t pack it up and ship it back because we didn’t keep the packaging

It was a life saver in so many situations with my baby for the first six months. After that she was almost too big but when she would wake up in the middle of the night I would put her there and she would fall back asleep so quickly before I put her back in bed. Allowed me to cook dinner, shower and was easy to move around the house

It’s an excellent swing. But my baby didn’t like it for very long and it takes up a lot of space. For the short amount of time that my baby used it, I think he would have been just as happy with a smaller swing.

I love that it disconnects into a little reclining chair (which we still use at 8 months even though he's outgrown the swing. The sad thing is the swing part stopped swinging a few months in.. barely any settings on the swing element work.

It doesn't feel super sturdy and the rocking seat portion is very clunky to carry around. Both my husband and I really like the music it plays - classical rather than the same old "baby" tunes that can get old really fast. I also really liked that it had the option to run on either battery or being plugged in. Overall it gets the job done, I was just disappointed in the overall quality and am not sure it will last through too many more kiddos (after using it for just my first).

Our daughter wasn't particularly fond of swinging, but it's a great product and has anything you would want in a swing.
