What weabout it
This huge playard with a simple, modern look offers ample space for a baby or two

A longtime staple of baby gear, playards provide a safe, contained space for your baby to play or nap independently while you take care of other things. When you travel or visit the grandparents, a playard can also double as a portable crib.

Joovy’s Room2 (Room Squared) is the big daddy of playards, with nearly 50 percent more space than traditional versions. There’s a whopping ten square feet of play space inside. This means your baby will comfortable in the playard longer, and it’s a huge boon for families with twins. But the Room2 is also bigger and heavier than more compact models, so it’s not as easy to travel with.

Features of the Room2 include edge-to-edge mesh windows, allowing for excellent airflow and good sight lines for both you and your baby. It has a thin, firm mattress that attaches to the bottom with a Velcro strap for added safety. A fitted cotton sheet is included. The mattress is elevated from the floor for airflow and cleanliness, but the center of gravity is low, providing the needed stability. The Room2 sets up and folds easily.

The Room2 departs from other playards in style as well. Its design is simple and modern, without the bright colors and patterns of other models.

With this or any playard, discontinue use when your child can climb out.

This play yard (along with the twin bassinet insert) was the perfect spot for our twins to sleep in our bedroom the first 4 months. Since they grew out of the bassinet, we have also used the play yard on its own. It is quite heavy, so it’s best used in a stationary position (not great for travel.

It’s kind of hard to set up and take down. If your don’t do it just right, it can be pretty frustrating. It’s definitely bigger than your average pack n' play! But if you have twins, as they grow there will be less room for them to roam around.

We have this set up as a semi-permanent play pen for our 11 month old. It’s big enough for him to keep some toys, but doesn’t take up too much room. It’s a bit heavy and would probably be hard to travel with. But it’s easy to assemble and disassemble.

We use ours for sleeping on trips and it has been great. It’s big and very well made so I feel comfortable with my baby girl sleeping in it.
