Mom of five. Breastfeeding years of 8-10 years
I am ULTRA disappointed in this upgrade. I am a mama of 5, and for my first 4 used the OG medela pump. I loved it. This one, does not suction the same, it’s louder, and the pieces to work with your pump are so much harder to clean, work with and put together. I am very disappointed I wasn’t my insurance script on this pump. :( I bought an old medela off Facebook marketplace because it’s the best, MEDELA please go back. This is a bad change. :( I do like the flanges comfort change and the way the

Simple but glitchy and unreliable pump
I have been pumping daily for 8 months. This is my 4th baby and I have had a different pump with each. The Pump in Style is by far the worst pump I have had. I will say, it is simple to use. That being said, if you want any metrics (even to know what level of suction you are using), this is not the pump for you. There is no screen. After having a lot of trouble with running the pump off the battery pack, I recently learned that this pump is not designed to be used regularly with batteries. This

Terrible
This is the absolute worst pump! Does not pull milk out, the suction does not turn up & it randomly shuts off. I’m frustrated I chose this from insurance and wasted my covered pump. I am now having to purchase a different brand. DO NOT WASTE your money on this!

Keeps shutting off
I had to return my first Medela Pump In Style pump after only nine days of use. It randomly stopped working and it didn’t matter if I adjusted the parts, or switched the battery pack for the wall plug, etc. I got a refund and bought another, hoping it was just a fluke. This one lasted over two weeks but still stopped mid pumping session over and over again. Now I know it has to be a manufacturing issue. For $200 I was hoping it would be more reliable and less difficult to manage.

Reliability issues
I’ve been using this pump for about 9 weeks now and it already is starting to have motor issues. 1) when in massage mode (which is only 60 seconds) it sounds like it’s massaging you breasts but it isn’t actually doing anything. I have to hit the side or the bottom of the motor for it to actually start messaging my nipples. 2) once into the expression modes there have been multiple times where after just 2-3 minutes the motor will just turn off so I have to restart it again to co time pumping. 3)

Wish I hadn’t gotten this pump
This pump has gotten me through my first breastfeeding venture, but not without trouble. I’ve had to replace the pump itself because the connection between the pump and power cord broke, and would not longer connect. Later I had to replace the hoses because one of the yellow pieces broke off. The last thing any new mom needs is stress related to pumping while at work. Thankfully I had a battery powered portable pump to use while I waited for replacement parts, but I will not be using medela in the future. It’s definitely a noisy pump as well. Would not recommend if you want something quiet.

Not reliable
I bought this a month ago and it stopped working last week! Not happy with this pump. I got the first one through insurance and it was working okay. However I bought the same one but hands free because my little one kicked it off the table while I was attempting to nurse and pump. This new one was purchased at Target and didn’t even make it through a month. It randomly decreases in suction power halfway through the pump session and the milk flow. This is not a very reliable pump.
Medela pump in style, hands free is not as good as the other Medela pump in style classic.
