13 Questions
Can this be mounted above the crib without screwing into the wall? ?

Best Answer:  The Motorola VM36XL Touch doesn’t come with a non-wall mount option, so it would need to be placed on a nearby shelf or mounted with screws. We recommend avoiding any setup directly over the crib for safety.

What are the differences between this and the PIP? ?

Best Answer:  The VM36XL Touch is a more feature-rich, video-focused baby monitor with remote camera control and app support, while the PIP models tend to offer simpler, audio-focused or basic video monitoring, often without Wi-Fi or remote camera control.

Which Motorola monitors are the newest? Lots of them have the ability for the app and parent monitor but not sure how to tell which one is their newest….. ?

Best Answer:  The newest Motorola baby monitors that offer both app connectivity and parent unit viewing include models like the Motorola VM36XL Touch Connect, PIP1610 HD Connect, and the VM855 Connect.

Is this hsa eligible?

Best Answer:  You'd want to reach out to your provider to see if the product is eligible and how you can submit a claim for reimbursement. Babylist doesn't support HSA or FSA payments right now.

For the model VM36XL I would like to purchase an additional camera?

Best Answer:  You can purchase an extra camera for the VM36XL Touch from Motorola.

Can this camera be used with the Hubble Connect App? I use that currently with my first Motorola camera.

Best Answer:  This monitor can't be used with the Hubble Connect App. Models that are VMxxx and Pipxxx only works with the Motorola Nursery app.

Does this camera record and offer playback?

Best Answer:  It does! You can even create and share image snapshots, video recordings, and baby journal entries using the Motorola Nursery app.

I have the non-wifi version of this for my older child (Motorola VM36XL 5") and love it, can the camera from that be connected to this for the split screen or do I have to buy two cameras at once to do that?

Best Answer:  Only a VM36XL Touch camera will pair with this monitor. So you won't be able to use this system with a VM36XL 5".

If I just want to use the handheld screen and not the phone app can the monitor work without Wi-Fi?

Best Answer:  You can absolutely use the parent unit (the handheld screen) without WiFi. WiFi connection is only needed if you want to view the baby unit (the camera) on your own device.

Can this monitor be mounted?

Best Answer:  Although it has a flexible grip mounting screw hole, you'll need to purchase the mount separately.

When you turn the camera on it takes a few minutes to connect to the monitor or your phone. The sound and motion notifications are inconsistent.

not recommended
I had high hopes for this product because it offers many useful features, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The biggest issue I encountered was the camera connectivity with the monitor. it's unreliable and often drops the connection, which really hampers the overall experience. Additionally, the battery life of the display unit is abysmal. You almost always have to keep the display unit plugged in, which is frustrating. For me, this product simply doesn’t serve its purpose well. I would not recommend it.

Pros: WiFi enabled. Has a lot of other options like music.

Cons: the video quality. The temperature never changed and our house was never at the temperature it said. The lights are always on.

We are now using it as our travel monitor.

Do NOT buy!
This is an absolute garbage baby monitor. The camera stopped working shortly after we started using it. It disconnects from the parent unit multiple times a day. Completely defeats the purpose of this product and compromises our baby’s safety. Hoping customer service can make this right.

Not Worth It's Price
Unfortunately, this product is not worth the price. While the camera and screen capture clear images, the monitor has some frustrating deficiencies. The monitor continually struggles to connect to the camera -- even when turned on in the same room -- and will often disconnect at random moments throughout the day. The monitor is also unnecessarily loud (why anyone would turn it above the third volume setting is beyond me), especially since the monitor increases the volume automatically at

Great monitor if you have small kids
I have been using the Motorola VM36XL monitor for about a month and love it. I bring the video monitor in my bed room at night and have it near me during the day if the kids are sleeping or playing. It great to have on to keep an eye on them. It also great because you can use the app too and that's great if you aren't close. I feel a lot safer with this monitor.

Nice baby camera and functions
This baby camera is a nice way to be able to run around the house and finish house chores while the little one is napping. My 1 year old wakes often from her naps so this is helping me feel more confident that I'll hear her cry while still getting things done around the house. Main importance for me is that the camera doesn't freeze and so far so good. I've been able to continuously see live stream as needed. Thank you Motorola for a great baby camera.

Wish I had this sooner
I loved this baby camera and it functions so much better than our Infant Optics. It was super easy to set up although I did have a couple of hiccups with the app. It took me 15 mins to pair our camera to the app. Not the biggest deal. The resolution on the monitor is superb and love that its touch screen. You can simply move the view by touching the monitor up or down. As for how long this might last, time will tell. Our infant optics broke a year in and had to get a replacement, hope this is not the case with this one.
