How easy is it to switch between audio only and video?
Best Answer: It's very easy. The VM819 has a dedicated LCD OFF button on the parent unit that lets you switch from video to audio-only by simply pressing and holding it. The screen turns off while audio continues to play, and pressing any button turns the video back on.
You can also enable the sound-activated (VOX) screen feature, which automatically turns the screen off when the room is quiet and wakes it back up when your baby makes noise above the selected sensitivity level, so you don't have to switch modes manually.
Is the camera rechargeable?
Best Answer: No. The camera (baby unit) on the VTech VM819 is not rechargeable and must remain plugged into the included AC power adapter during use.
Does this monitor have to connect to WiFi?
Best Answer: The VTech VM819 does not use Wi-Fi; it uses a secure, direct 2.4GHz FHSS connection.
Can you mount the camera to the wall?
Best Answer: Of course! The VTech VM819 have slots on the bottom of the baby unit for wall mounting.

Doesn't last long
this monitor worked great...until it didn't. We have been using it approximately 6 months (probably a little less) and the parent unit has completely lost all function in its buttons. Luckily for us, the buttons stopped functioning with the unit on so we are still able to use it until we purchase a new one.
Since I received this as a gift, I cannot use the warranty through Vtech because they require proof of purchase

Works great and it has a lot of options to make it most convenient for you and it also holds a signal for a pretty good distance! I would definitely recommend

Peace of mind!
Perfect for watching my son! For the price it’s great! Battery life lasts on the screen and I can see clearly during the day and night vision! I’m so glad I got this because one can’t be hacked and two it’s a great affordable price! Also range is good I could walk to the next house and still see my son! Clear sounds, the ability to talk to him and etc. It was worth it! Especially the price since i’m a SAHM (stay at home mom)

Indicator light on camera doesn't turn off/disruptive to sleep
Decent product for the price! It is very hard to see the screen but we really just use it for sound. My big negative is it has an indicator light on the camera that goes in babies' room that flashes or holds a steady green while the camera is on that you cannot turn off! Ive wasted time worrying about if this is too disruptive to baby's sleep. I think some of the nicer models you can turn this light off but not with ours. Also, there are lights on the parent unit that do not turn off either so…
