What’s the difference between this and the waterproof fitted crib pad?

Best Answer:  Hi Megan. They both protect the mattress but the key difference is this one doesn't offer waterproof protection.

Is this waterproof or not by itself? The description states that is has a waterproof backing to protect the mattress but in the previous question asked the answer stated “the pad itself is not waterproof” ?

Best Answer:  This current version of the breathable pad is waterproof.

Is it safe to have two layers of this cover? - So, if baby has an accident in the night we can just take one off and throw it in the wash and there is a second pad ready to go.

Best Answer:  While it is not a safety concern to add an additional pad (as long as it does not bunch up), it will remove the intended function of the pad. The pad itself is not waterproof, so even if you layer a sheet on top of the pad it is likely that any accidents will leak onto the next pad/sheet set. Additionally, even if you choose to use breathable sheets, 2 layers of the padding as well as two sheets will great reduce the overall breathability of the mattress set up.

Falling apart already
I follow the laundering guidelines and even contacted to ensure I was doing everything correctly and it's already ripping at one of the corners. I am disappointed. I feel safe using this mattress cover with the naturepedic mattress so I am stuck purchasing another one soon but disappointed in the performance of the product and how I've barely had it for a few months and it's already coming apart.

I would buy this product again.
I love this product as well. I like the breathability of it as well as a waterproof barrier. I use under the Breathable Ultra Crib Mattress Cover.

Peace of mind
I am so happy I bought this mattress cover. Now that my son sleeps on his stomach, we needed this cover to help us sleep at night, knowing he is safe. It's very easy to take on and off too for cleaning.

Good Quality
I bought a back up cover for my baby's mattress. The material is a good quality and feels nice and cushy. It gets a bit crinkled after a wash and dry, so you should plan to fold it carefully or put it on the mattress right away.
