The KeyFit 30 ClearTex is engineered with innovative features that make it easy to install simply, accurately and securely every time. The lightweight carrier clicks into the stay-in-car base and compatible Chicco strollers for streamlined travel.
ClearTex fabric features no added chemicals for gentle, child comfort and parent peace of mind. It’s also GREENGUARD GOLD Certified, meaning it’s been tested for low chemical emissions, contributing to healthier air quality around baby.
Two RideRight bubble level-indicators and the ReclineSure spring-loaded leveling foot help verify and achieve proper angle in the vehicle seat. The base is also equipped with premium LATCH connectors for easy attachment and removal from the lower anchors in the vehicle seat. The one-pull SuperCinch tightener applies force-multiplying technology for a secure fit with a fraction of the effort.
For installation with the vehicle seat belt, clear belt routing and integrated lock-offs make it easy to position, tighten and lock the belt into place.
More key features: the KeyFit 30 ClearTex includes a removable head and body support to accommodate newborns as small as 4 lbs. A five-point harness with one-pull tightening helps keep baby secure, and the carrier shell is lined with EPS energy-absorbing foam for improved impact protection.
The large, removable canopy provides shade from the sun and the machine washable seat pad makes cleanup a breeze.

Fine seat but quality vs 35 is much less.
I have the 35 and bought the 30 for our 2nd car since the 35 was sold out. It’s a perfectly fine seat and glad it fits also into the other car seat base, but was very thrown off by how much lower quality the material is and especially the hood, vs. the 35.

Brand logo inside rubs on back of baby’s head causing scratches / irritation
Love everything about this car seat with exception of one thing. The only negative I would give is the brand logo inside the car seat where baby sits is raised (looks like a thin rough fabric patch that’s affixed by heat? So can’t remove) and now that my baby has grown, it’s right behind the back of her head and rubs her skin raw and scratches her when she moves her head repeatedly around while in it. So I bought a generic fitted liner on Amazon. The fitted liner is about $20-$30. Definitely worth buying the liner once your baby outgrows the infant insert and sits up taller in this car seat.

Good product but wouldn’t buy through Chicco
The car seat itself was good. But I would not recommend buying any product directly from Chicco. My husband and I accidentally both ordered a car seat for our next child. Which is completely our fault. So we ended up with 2 of the exact same seat. We already had additional bases and I just couldn’t think of a reason to keep a second seat. To return a product to Chicco you have to contact them to get return approval and a number which was kind of a pain. You then have to pay for return shipping.…

Nice Product, Poor Return Policy
The car seat seems to be great quality. I am very disappointed with the return policy, however. I did not realize that this car seat came with a base, and when I tried to return the additional base I had purchased, I was required to pay shipping. This set me back another $22 from the purchase price. I tried to buy through Chicco instead of a second party, but I will not do so again.

Sticky handle defective
Please be warned that this carseat has manufactured defective parts. We were proud of Chicco keyfit 30 for many years and generation. We are sad to have a keyfit 30 rubber handle melt and become very sticky.

Excellent for new babies!
This system has been great with our baby. The fabric is soft and I'm thankful it can be washed. I only wish my giant baby wasn't so big so she could use it longer!

Secure & Easy
I have a base in my car, my husband has one for his and we just bought a 3rd base for my MIL who is watching little one during the day. It's been so easy for all three of us to navigate travel with our little one whether it be by car or stroller. We are so pleased with how secure and easy it's been while using the KeyFit 30 ClearTex Infant Car Seat. My little one hates the sun so the canopy extension has been a blessing! This is a great, quality car seat system.
