Overview
Description
Esembly diapers are made up of two products: an absorbent Inner (sold separately) and a waterproof Outer.
Waterproof yet breathable, Esembly Outers are soft, stretchy and trim-fitting. Even better, they’re made of Oeko-Tex-certified recycled fabric from 100% post-consumer plastic bottles!
The Outer is the part of the diaper that provides the containment. If anything sneaks past the Inner, you can rest assured it won’t go beyond the Outer.
The unique structure of the fabric allows for optimal transmission, so that the fabric releases vapor and heat while your baby is wearing it, keeping them comfortable longer.
Outers come in two sizes and are designed to grow with your baby. Two rows of snaps at the waist allow you to adjust the size of the waist independently from the openings at the legs. This enables you to get a perfect fit on babies with big round bellies and skinny legs, and vice versa.
As an added bonus, Outers can be used on their own (with no Inner underneath) as a swim diaper, or over disposables to contain frequent leaks and blowouts.
Here’s how it works:
- Put a fresh Inner on baby at each change.
- Cover the Inner with a waterproof Outer to make a diaper.
- Change an awake baby every 2-3 hours, or immediately if poop is detected.
- To accommodate long nighttime sleep stretches, boost the absorbency of your diaper with an Overnighter (sold separately).
- When soiled, put in the Pail Pouch until your laundry day.
If cloth diapering full-time, they recommend having 24 Inners and 6 Outers. Inners require laundering after each use, whereas Outers can be used multiple times before washing.
Launder your Inners and Outers every 2-3 days using Esembly Washing Powder (or similar clean-rinsing detergent) as per the Esembly’s 4-step wash instructions.

Can this be used with regular prefold cloth diapers?
Best Answer: Yes, aside from Esembly Inners (sold separately), this diaper cover can also be used over prefolds, flats, contours, and fitted diapers.
do you need an insert if using this as a swim diaper?
Can you use a normal diaper inside of this when using it for swimming?

The outers from Esembly are easy to use. It's silly, but honestly I even just like the snap noise every time I button up the covers! My kids look cute and I feel good about what's on their bums.

Esembly makes such an easy diapering system to use! When I said I wanted to do cloth diapers, everyone thought I was crazy. But after showing friends and family the esembly products and how easy everything is, they have been much more on board! I even got my sister and sister in law to convert!!! The quality is amazing. And the peace of mind knowing my daughter is in sustainable, healthy fabric is irreplaceable. I am a lifetime fan!

We’ve been using esembly diapers since my daughter was born. They have been great. We have never had any blow out issues. We occasionally have pee through but it’s generally when there’s a lot and the clothes have moved the outer (Usually on the legs).
We actually have a set of the size one inners and a set of the relaxed size one inners (my daughter had chunky legs and so the relaxed elastic inners where perfect for getting us between the regular size one and size two).
Overall I’m a huge fan.

We love our esembly diaper cover so much! We use these and wool covers. As much as I love wool, these are the most practical for our day care setting and blow outs. Truly blow out proof. They are so cute and fit our babe great. Not too snug on his tummy and he can still move around freely. Love them.
