What weabout it
A rocking bassinet with a clean, modern design also scores high for safety and simplicity

About this Product
  • Cradle sides are made of soft and airy mesh fabric
  • Light enough to move from room to room as needed
  • Gentle, springy rocking movement
  • Stable, safe design from newborn to 6 months
  • Oeko-Tex certified for peace of mind

Before you have a baby, it may be hard to imagine buying a piece of furniture that you will use only for a few months. But having a good cradle or bassinet in those early weeks can be invaluable. BabyBjorn’s sleek Cradle for newborns is a minimalist meeting of form and function that may be worth the investment.

The comfortable Cradle has a gentle rocking movement that is triggered when you rock it or in response to the baby’s own movements. The design is compact, and it’s light enough that you can carry it from room to room—setting it up in the living room by day and the bedroom by night—so you can be near your baby at all times.

The Cradle is designed with safety top of mind along with comfort. The sides are made of mesh, allowing excellent air circulation. Your baby can breathe through this fabric, so you don’t need to worry if your baby’s face is too close to the side of the cradle. The fabric construction also means there are no loose parts or bars to trap hands or feet, and you don’t need a bumper. The sheer mesh and low height allow you to easily monitor your baby.

In addition, the Cradle is certified free of hazardous substances according to the stringent international Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, Class I for baby products. Assembly is required, but it’s straightforward can be done in just a few minutes with two screws and a key (included).

Honestly I really liked this but my baby hated it- he would not sleep in it at all. I think if it rocked more easily that would have been helpful maybe, but I know plenty of people who absolutely LOVED IT!

My baby didn’t sleep on anything flat. It’s beautiful, but it’s a lot of money and a gamble on what your baby will like to sleep in.

First off let me say that I love the style and overall look, but my only negative is that it was much lower than my bed and was a little annoying to have to bend down and pull him up for night feedings. Most times I would have to get out of bed and pick him up because it felt more safe. Will I use it again for my next, yes because it was expensive and does the job. I will say in the first weeks it’s nice for laying baby down while getting ready or naps- but nighttime with it was not fun for me and my son by 2-3 months did not like it.

Comfortable and convenient. My baby slept well in it at night and for naps. We used it until she was about 3 months old. It's easy to transfer from room to room if needed. Very light weight. Easy to assemble.

Great bedside bassinet. We used it until 6 months (although by the end, baby was probably a little too long). I felt so much safer with baby by my side at night.

The cradle is cute in terms of aesthetics. However, we did not use it much because my newborn didn't like it. He slept on a sleeper for the first 3 months since he hated his crib and the cradle, they were too big and not cozy enough like the inside of momma's belly. Therefore, it was very difficult to get him to sleep there and due to SIDS I didn't want to put any sheets around him to make him more comfortable. It's not really worth the price since you don't know what your baby is going to like at the end of the day it's their choice.

Lightweight, mesh sides, beautiful design, fit our very large, long baby for the first four months. I could see it lasting longer (6+ months?) with a more average size baby.

It's slick, it's safe, it rocks the baby with his/her own movements, its breathable, it's Scandinavian - need I say more! Get it. It's a life saver you can drag around the house with you in the first couple of months of your little one's life.
