Why I Love It: A New Mom’s Favorite Postpartum Self Care Ritual
Beauty influencer Hermela Lamps shares how she brought comfort, hydration and a little self-care back into her routine.

From soothing rituals to simple luxuries, find out which everyday essentials are helping new moms prioritize their own needs and feel more like themselves again.
Why did she get it?
Since welcoming her daughter, Olympia, Hermela Lamps has found herself moving through life at a new pace. The beauty and style creator is still creating, working and showing up for her community, but her days now revolve around the smaller rhythms of new motherhood: feeding, cuddling, bath time and getting her baby down for naps.
“Motherhood has honestly been the most beautiful and transformative chapter of my life,” Lamps said. “Welcoming Olympia completely shifted my perspective on everything, my priorities, my routines, even the way I slow down and appreciate small moments [for myself].”
That shift has changed how she thinks about care, too. Postpartum, her routine became less about doing more and more about choosing what actually supports her, especially as her skin started to feel different than it had before.
“Postpartum definitely changed my skin in ways I wasn’t fully expecting,” she said. “I noticed more dryness, sensitivity, and overall dullness, especially in those first few months while adjusting to hormones, lack of sleep, and the constant demands of motherhood.”
As a busy mom, she still wanted to prioritize her "me-time" with self-care products that feel nourishing and gentle—which drew her to the Native Sensitive Series in Bare Vanilla.
Why does she love it?
Now, the Native Sensitive Series is part of her daily routine because it meets her skin where it is right now: dry, sensitive and in need of comfort without overcomplicating things. Here’s what stands out most:
Soothing moisture for postpartum skin: “Right now, I’m really prioritizing hydration and consistency over anything complicated,” she said. “I’ve simplified my routine a lot and focused on products that keep my skin feeling nourished and healthy.”
Gentle ingredients she feels good about using daily: “I’ve found myself being much more mindful and intentional about the products I use daily, especially because my baby is constantly against my skin, whether I’m holding her, feeding her, or cuddling her throughout the day,” she said. Knowing the formulas are made without sulfates, parabens or dyes gives her added reassurance.
A sensitive-skin formula that still feels elevated: For Lamps, gentle doesn’t have to mean basic. The collection is co-created by dermatologists, allergists and biologists, so it “feels simple and clean without sacrificing the experience of self care,” she said. The Body Wash and Lotion fit into the kind of pared-back routine she needs right now, while still making that routine feel intentional.
A light Bare Vanilla scent: Many sensitive skin products leave fragrance out completely, but Lamps enjoys that this one still brings a soft sensory element to her routine. “The light Bare Vanilla scent feels like the perfect balance because it’s subtle, comforting, and not overpowering or irritating on my skin,” she said.
Who would she recommend it to?
New motherhood can make it easy to focus on everyone else first. For Lamps, using Native’s Sensitive Series Body Wash and Lotion became a simple way to reconnect with herself in the middle of a very full season.
“To any new mom, I’d say don’t forget to pour a little love back into yourself too,” she said. “The smallest routines can make such a difference postpartum.”
For her, the Body Wash and Lotion stand out because they offer the balance she’s been looking for in this stage: clean-feeling ingredients, sensitive-skin comfort, soft moisture and a light scent that makes everyday body care feel a little more special.
