Why I Love It: The Go-To Bottle That Helped My Combo-Feeding Journey
This breast-like bottle helped a new mom combo feed with confidence when breastfeeding felt unexpectedly hard.

We're talking to real parents about the baby gear they just can’t live without, from $20 snot suckers to $300 breathable crib mattresses and everything in between.
Why did she get it?
Parenting influencer and YouTuber Nagam Zeineddine thought she was more than ready for motherhood when she found out she was expecting her first baby.
“By the time that he came, I was very, very excited,” she said. “I just felt like I was ready to be a mom at that time.”
What she wasn’t ready for was breastfeeding.
“You hear the hardest thing about having a newborn is sleep, but it's actually breastfeeding for me,” she said.
In the beginning, Zeineddine tried to make breastfeeding exclusively work with her son, Younes, now 3 months old—but quickly realized how hard it could be emotionally and physically, especially when her milk supply felt unpredictable.
Those worries felt even more real at Younes one-month checkup, when his doctor expressed concerns about his weight gain.
“The doctor told me that [he]…was not gaining weight like he should,” she said, adding that she was encouraged to start pumping more. Pumping helped her feel calmer because it gave her something breastfeeding couldn’t always offer: clarity.
“When I pump, it makes me feel at ease knowing, ‘OK, I can see how many ounces I'm getting and what I need to supplement.’”
To help take the pressure off and allow other caregivers to feed Younes, Zeineddine set a goal early on: one bottle a day, no matter what. But to stick to her breastfeeding goals (and avoid added stress) she needed a bottle that felt as close to breast as possible. That’s where the NUK Perfect Match Bottle came in.
Nagam’s must-haves
Before landing on NUK, Nagam tested a few different bottles and quickly learned there was more to bottle feeding than she realized, especially when Younes started struggling with gas.
“I didn’t even know what anti-colic meant,” she said. “It wasn’t until he started getting really gassy that I learned about it.”
Once she realized she needed an option that would support her breastfeeding routine and be anti-colic, she narrowed it down to her top pick. Here’s what made the NUK Perfect Match Bottle her go-to:
A breast-like nipple: Nagam’s favorite feature is the nipple itself—and how closely it mimics breastfeeding. “The NUK nipple is truly special,” she said. “When you squeeze it, it's literally like the breast.” She also loved how natural it felt for Younes.“Even the way it molds in his mouth—it’s just like how he latches when breastfeeding. I love that.”
Fewer parts to deal with: Traditional anti-colic bottles can have lots of parts, but with feeding already taking so much time and energy, Nagam didn’t want a bottle that required a complicated setup or an overwhelming cleanup. NUK’s anti-colic nipples fit the bill. “The nipple is the top for me,” she said, and she also appreciated that “it doesn’t have as many parts [as some other anti-colic bottles].”
Supports her one-bottle-a-day routine: For Nagam, introducing a daily bottle wasn’t about replacing breastfeeding—it was about making it sustainable. “This is why I wanted to introduce one bottle a day from the very beginning,” she said. “Whether I'm pumping or giving him formula, because that way I'm a little happier.” That one bottle gives her support, flexibility and a little breathing room without derailing her breastfeeding journey.
Who would she recommend it to?
Nagam is still breastfeeding and hopes to keep going long-term—“I definitely want to aim to reach one year”—but she’s also learned that feeding doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing.
To moms feeling pressure to do everything perfectly, her advice is simple: “Don't be so hard on yourself. It's OK to give your baby one bottle a day.”
In her experience, having that bottle option can help moms feel more like themselves again. “I think in the long run, it will make you feel a lot better, more present,” she said. “You get to do things for yourself that make you feel better.”
Whether you’re combo feeding from the start, supplementing while your milk supply regulates or just looking for a bottle that feels as close to breastfeeding as possible, Nagam says the key is giving yourself permission to do what works.
“Don't overthink it,” she said. “That one bottle a day makes a big difference.”
