(Note that the carrier won’t work for preemies, as the minimum weight is 7 pounds. But because of its high weight limit, it’s a great carrier for toddlers.)

You can wear your baby on your front in three positions: newborns use the fetal position, with arms and legs tucked in; for infants under 6 months, the seat adjusts to a narrower setting so legs can be out but hips are still properly supported; babies 6 months and older use a wider seat setting, with legs wrapping around your body. Unlike the Ergo, you don’t need an extra newborn insert for the Lillebaby carrier. Toddlers 6 months and up can also ride on your front facing out, on your hip or on your back.

Your baby’s hips are well supported and positioned in all carry modes, earning the carrier the International Hip Dysplasia Institute’s seal of approval. Adjustable seat and leg openings facilitate proper hip support, frog-leg seating, and curved C-spine position. There’s a padded, adjustable head support to secure your little one’s head and neck in comfort. The outside panel zips down to reveal breathable mesh for air circulation on hot days, or zips up for warmth on cool days. A UPF 50+ sun hood provides sun protection and a cozy place to sleep.

For parents, the lumbar support and waist belt help to distribute your baby’s weight more evenly, providing stability and relieving back pressure. You can wear the straps backpack style or crossed like an X, and the padded straps have two-way adjusters, all features that help you get the perfect fit. The carrier is breastfeeding-friendly, and it has a zippered pocket to stash essentials.
