A Heated Breast Pump? Here's Why You Might Want the eufy S1 Pro

There are a lot of breast pumps out there, but each one has the same primary goal: to help you feed your baby. How each pump does that can vary, but the eufy S1 Pro is the only wearable option (aka it fits in your bra for hands-free wireless pumping) that uses heat to help make it happen.

You may have heard that using a warm compress can help improve milk flow, soothe discomfort and potentially reduce swelling or pain while breastfeeding. That’s the same logic behind the S1 Pro’s built-in heating plate.

Where you might use a moist heat compress followed by a gentle massage before pumping, the S1 recreates the process much more efficiently, allowing you to ease into the pump sesh comfortably and relaxed. And since being both comfy and relaxed are two important factors to a successful pumping journey, the eufy S1 Pro has actually gotten a reputation for increasing milk output (by up to 30 percent according to a real user survey*) and helping families breastfeed longer (check the reviews).

Want to know more about the eufy S1 Pro Wearable Breast Pump? Read on for five things you should know if you’re considering adding it to your Babylist registry (or just upgrading your current pump sitch).

#1: Soothing warmth with a built-in heating plate

The S1 Pro's built-in heating plate is its biggest differentiator, but how it warms is also significant. A precision temperature sensor checks the temperature every 3 seconds to keep the warmth steady and gentle. The heat is evenly distributed through the soft silicone flange, and for added safety, the heating feature automatically turns off after 15 minutes.

Plus: you can find the right level of warmth for your body with its seven adjustable heat settings (from 95°F to 105°F) to enhance milk flow, reduce clogs and give you a more skin-to-skin-like pumping experience.

#2: Customizable pumping rhythms

A baby’s natural suckle can vary to get more or less milk, faster or slower, depending on how old or how hungry they are. The more a breast pump allows for a similar customization, the better the overall pumping experience is for output and comfort.

The S1 Pro has hospital-grade suction (helpful for parents who are concerned about milk supply) and a customizable experience—there are seven suction levels, three cycle speeds (to control how frequently the pump “suckles” per minute) and four OptiRhythm settings:

  • Max: This setting is for parents who want the most output.

  • Gentle: This setting is for people with sensitive nipples.

  • Natural: This setting mimics how a baby might naturally suckle.

  • Standard: This setting is made to be most like the suction of non-wearable electric breast pumps.

Heads up: in addition to on-pump controls, these settings can be managed in the eufy baby app (that also allows you to monitor output progress, schedule pump sessions, save favorite settings and set a timer for pumping).

#3: Compact and discreet for on-the-go sessions

Wearable electric pumps have become popular as an alternative to traditional pumps because they make it easier to move around while pumping. They’re also helpful if you’re away from home but need to stick to a pumping schedule, whether that’s returning to the office or going on a trip.

With a streamlined (aka easy to tuck away) carrying case, the S1 Pro is made to be brought along without adding extra bulk. Toss it in a tote bag, pack it in a carry-on or take it on its own—its compact size and built-in handle make it easy to bring anywhere. Then, when you’re ready to start your session, it’s lightweight enough to tuck away in your bra for hands-free, leak-proof pumping.

If you’re not super comfortable with the idea of pumping in public, here’s something you might like: the S1 Pro is quiet enough for the office, a shared space or even a café—you’ll notice the latte machine long before the S1 Pro.

#4: Up to 5 days of power with the charging case

With an on-the-go pump, it’s important to know how long the battery will last you. The eufy S1 Pro can work for about 2.5 hours on a full charge, or about four to six sessions, depending on the settings and length of your sessions.

A unique feature of the eufy S1 Pro is that its carrying case is also a wireless charger that can keep the pump powered for five days. This kind of case is especially helpful for busy working parents who might forget to charge it every day.

#5: Easy-to-clean pump parts

Cleaning breast pump parts can feel overwhelming. Do you boil clean or steam clean? Toss them in the dishwasher? The eufy S1 Pro has four main parts to clean:

  • Breast Shields / Flanges: Wash after each use thoroughly with warm, soapy water or in the top rack of the dishwasher and sterilize by boiling, using a steam sterilizer, or microwave sterilizing bag

  • Bottles and Caps: After each use, clean with warm, soapy water or place in the dishwasher and sterilize using your preferred method (boil, steam, or microwave bag)

  • Valves and Membranes: Rinse and wash regularly, gently with warm, soapy water and allow to air-dry completely

  • Backflow Protectors: Clean daily or after a few uses, depending on your routine—these can usually be sterilized, but always double-check the manual to avoid damage

If you’re new to the world of breastfeeding and pumping, it can feel like a lot of work to find one that’s best for you. With the eufy S1 Pro Wearable Breast Pump, you get a pump that’s truly one-of-a-kind with its heating feature that can make pumping more comfortable (while recreating the gentle warmth of your baby’s cheek against your skin), and ultimately help create a better experience overall. Plus, because it’s wearable and has that unique charging case, it’s a great pump to have on hand when you need to pump away from home.

Heads up: The S1 Pro isn’t eufy’s only breast pump with built-in heating. Their new E20 breast pump is a hands-free wearable that gives you three levels of soothing heat and hospital-grade suction, too.
