Why I Love It: Sarah Herron’s Trusted Diaper Pick for Her Twin Girls
Why I Love It: Sarah Herron’s Trusted Diaper Pick for Her Twin Girls

Is there a baby product you’re absolutely obsessed with? Or something from your registry that you didn’t think you even needed—but now can't stop telling everyone about? We're talking to real parents about the baby gear they just can’t live without, from $20 snot suckers to $300 breathable crib mattresses and everything in between.

When Sarah Herron found out she was having twins, she was in complete shock. The “Bachelor Nation” star and her husband, Dylan Brown, had been trying to get pregnant for years, sharing their fertility struggles on social media

“After years of infertility and rounds of IVF, we implanted two embryos, knowing that there was a possibility of twins, but realistically, we thought only one would stick,” Herron said.

“When we went in for our first ultrasound, we were completely breathless to discover both girls had implanted!”

After the surprise wore off, Herron got into planning mode, which included prepping for her baby shower. One of her favorite moments from the shower was a diaper raffle, where her guests exchanged packs of diapers for raffle tickets that would give them a chance to win a prize.

“It was a great way to get a head start on creating a diaper stash before my twins arrived,” she said, “but more importantly, it was a great way for me to learn which diapers other moms loved and trusted most.”

Before getting pregnant, Herron didn’t know much about diapers or how to tell the benefits of one brand from another, but at her baby shower, she realized there was one kind she got the most: Pampers Swaddlers

Why did she get it?

Diapers are the most-registered-for items on baby registries for a reason: babies go through so many of them (between 2,500 and 3,000 in the first year alone). With twins, it was easy for Herron and her husband to go through their baby shower stash, but when it was time to restock, they stuck with the clear winner.

“After trying the various brands of diapers that we were gifted, our girls are now 9 months old, and Pampers Swaddlers are still my diaper of choice,” Herron said.

Now, the parents have become diaper duty experts, keeping extra Swaddlers stocked in their changing stations all around the house, from their bedroom to the living room. It’s one of the ways they stay prepared with double the diapers to change.

“I think the idea of changing diapers to expectant parents can feel really overwhelming,” she said.  “But once you do it a couple of times it’s nothing to be scared of.

Why does she love it?

With a five-star rating and over 50K reviews, Pampers Swaddlers are the most popular diapers on Babylist. For Herron, they stood out as the best choice for her twins for a few reasons:

  • Parent-trusted: Whether someone’s a first-time parent or a parenting pro, Pampers are a go-to grab for many because they’re known to be a safe, reliable choice. “I figured it must be for a good reason,” she said. “All my mom friends trusted Pampers!”

  • Gentle on skin: “It’s important to me that diapers are free of elemental chlorine, parabens and harsh chemicals,” Herron said. Pampers Swaddlers are hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved, made without those common irritants to help protect a baby’s sensitive skin.

  • Super absorbent: “I’m looking for maximum leak protection because changing diapers over 20 times a day is exhausting (especially at night) and expensive with twins,” Herron said. “So I want a diaper that maximizes the life of each diaper.” Swaddlers have a moisture-wicking liner that allows baby's skin to breathe and locks away wetness to help keep skin dry.* For extra protection, they’re also made with a Blowout Barrier and Dual Leak Guard Barrier that help prevent leaks from the back and sides of the diaper.

Who would she recommend it to?

Adjusting to those frequent diaper changes can be a lot for new parents, Herron said, but it helps to have a dependable diaper on hand. If you’re the kind of parent who looks to other parents for their trusted recommendations or just prefer a diaper known for being hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive baby bottoms, Pampers Swaddlers are a great place to start.

And if you’re still overwhelmed by diaper duty, here’s her advice: “Take a deep breath and remain calm. The babies might be crying, but everything will be OK. Just remember to work intentionally.”
