About this Product
  • 5-in diagonal color LCD display
  • 1,000 ft range
  • Two-way audio and remote pan-tilt-zoom

A video baby monitor lets you watch real time video of your baby as they sleep, so you can rest assured they are safe and sound. Motorola’s MBP36XL has a camera to install where your baby sleeps and a monitor you can carry with you around your home. The portable parent unit has a 5-inch color screen, with clear LCD image and a 1,000 ft range. As a useful bonus, it also displays the temperature in your baby’s room, so you will know if it’s too hot or too cold.

The camera attaches just to shelves, brackets, and more with the included StarGrip (for safety, remember to mount it at least three feet outside the crib). The camera has remote pan, tilt and zoom with a high-sensitivity microphone and infrared night vision so you can see and hear your baby day and night. Both camera and monitor are rechargeable, and the set has a two-way communication feature, so you can use it to talk with your partner or child.

This monitor is very similar to the Motorola MBP33XL Baby Monitor which has a 3.5” screen and costs about $40 less.

I really like the picture quality, the ability to move the camera as my babe moves all over the crib! I didn’t want to hard mount this, so I needed to buy the claw, an extra accessory which I love. The negative is battery life. The camera battery life will not last more than an hour or so. The monitor can go all day if you turn it off while baby is awake. Every monitor review that I read had significant cons. I wanted one that didn’t need WiFi, and didn’t need an app on my phone. I wanted an old school monitor I could quickly check and sit on my bedside table during nighttime. This system allows me to do that. I can avoid relying on WiFi for service and avoid using an app to check my baby. I can even leave it illuminated (while plugged into charger) all night so I can just glance over throughout the night when I wake up to check on baby.

Just wanted to state that a lot of negative reviews complain about the battery life or charging issues. Make sure you are reading the manual before setting your monitor up because it does say to charge your monitor up to 16 hours prior to first use.

Camera started shutting off after only 7 months using it and having it always charged. Not only that, but in the event that it doesn't peeter out, if you shut off the camera without shutting off the monitor first, the monitor will incessantly beep until that is also turned off.

Easy to use and it’s night vision is great! I also like you can speak to your little one. So easy to use for first-time parents like myself and husband.

Good battery life, large display screen, adjustable brightness and rotation and the arms on the camera can grasp onto anything!

This monitor worked for about an hour before the parent and baby unit lost connection. After connection was lost, no amount of troubleshooting would bring it back. After chatting with tech support and reading other reviews, we promptly returned the unit to Amazon for a refund. Skip it.

Good picture and features. Screen is bright in the dark, so it took a few days to get used to sleeping with it on. Keep the camera plugged in all the time, charge the monitor each night.

It’s a really nice monitor but the charging ports don’t keep the cords in well. We have had it turn off in the night several times for no reason which is disappointing for a monitor.

It does the job. Good for parents who don't have patience for high tech gadgets.
