5-in baby monitor with remote pan-tilt-zoom and a 1000 ft range

About this Product
  • 5-in diagonal color LCD display
  • 1,000 ft range
  • Two-way audio and remote pan-tilt-zoom

A video baby monitor lets you watch real time video of your baby as they sleep, so you can rest assured they are safe and sound. Motorola’s MBP36XL has a camera to install where your baby sleeps and a monitor you can carry with you around your home. The portable parent unit has a 5-inch color screen, with clear LCD image and a 1,000 ft range. As a useful bonus, it also displays the temperature in your baby’s room, so you will know if it’s too hot or too cold.

The camera attaches just to shelves, brackets, and more with the included StarGrip (for safety, remember to mount it at least three feet outside the crib). The camera has remote pan, tilt and zoom with a high-sensitivity microphone and infrared night vision so you can see and hear your baby day and night. Both camera and monitor are rechargeable, and the set has a two-way communication feature, so you can use it to talk with your partner or child.

This monitor is very similar to the Motorola MBP33XL Baby Monitor which has a 3.5” screen and costs about $40 less.

This monitor was good until it stopped charging two months in. When purchased from babylist, you must go through Motorola’s customer service site to request a replacement. First round, they determined it was the charging cable that was defective, which took 7 days to receive a replacement charger. The replacement charger did not work, and I am now awaiting a second charger. Long story, in summary do not purchase a Motorola monitor from babylist, only purchase from a retailer you can return directly too in case it is defective. Do not rely on Motorola’s USA/Canada customer service pipeline.

The motor gets pretty good "range" and the battery life on the monitor is great! I like that you can add additional cameras using the same monitor.

Terrible signal and makes a LOT of unnecessary sounds. Lowest volume also quite loud.

The range is great - we can take it into our backyard and be probably 75 yards from our daughter's room, and it still works great. I also appreciate that you can turn the camera off and just have sound, and that you can turn the sound off and still have the camera. It does a good job picking up baby noises even when we have a white noise machine on. And I appreciate that the camera has a thermometer!

The monitor may short circuit and die if you have too much friction with fabric or the couch. The battery life is short. Needs daily charging.
