The 12-Piece Essentials Layette Set from Small Story builds baby’s first wardrobe with favorite styles for the early weeks and months. Everything’s made from soft 100% organic cotton for gentle comfort on sensitive skin.
Included in the set:
Two Hats: A simple and stylish way to keep baby’s head warm.
One Bandana Bib: Perfect for drooly or teething babies, this Bib accents your little one’s outfit instead of covering it up. Three snaps on the back create the just-right fit.
Three Short-Sleeve Bodysuits: Lap shoulders allow for easy on and off (you call pull the Bodysuit down over their body or up over their head), plus three snap closures for diaper changes.
Three Pants: Easy pull-on style with no closures and a comfortable covered waistband.
One Gown: The open bottom has a cinched hem for easier diaper changes (especially helpful in the middle of night). More thoughtful details: overlap shoulders and mitten cuffs to keep little hands warm and prevent accidental scratches.
One Footie: A two-way zipper means you can change baby without fully undressing them, plus mitten cuffs keep little hands warm and prevent accidental scratches.
Booties: Designed to stay on little feet with an adjustable snap, they’re the cutest way to keep toes toasty.

Smell terrible
These smell terrible! I opened the box and they have a horrific factory chemical smell and I’ll have to return them. Even though they are organic cotton, they clearly have chemicals in the manufacturing process that I wouldn’t want around a child.

So far just received. Right out of the box, it does have a little smell but we're supposed to wash the clothes anyway before wearing them. Super cute, super soft.

Perfect Baby Set!

This 12-piece Essentials baby set has everything you need! The print is adorable and could truly be gender neutral but not boring at all. The fit is true to size other than the waist of the pants feeling a little big depending on your baby’s belly. Organic cotton is important to us and this hits the mark on that as well. The gown is the perfect length to use as an outfit or just an outer layer. While it has been perfect for us, this would make the perfect baby shower gift. The box and packaging is aesthetically pleasing and would be a fun unbox for any new mom!

The packaging of this set is top notch! Comes in a box with everything laid out and wrapped in tissue paper, perfect for a baby shower!! I love the bright (but still neutral) colors and prints. Initially I was skeptical, because out of the box, the material felt a little rough and stiff. After going through the wash, these pieces are SO soft! This set has everything necessary for the basics a baby will need. Pajamas, booties, onesies, pants, hats! I love that everything can mix and match such as any pair of pants go perfectly with any of the onesies. The organic cotton is nice and soft. And the print is adorable! This set has become a main staple in our rotation so far. I also appreciate the generous sizing. Our guy is 5 months old and in the 90% percentile for height. These outfits and pajamas fit him great but will also last us quite some time still. Overall, I am very happy with this set!

Adorable, fun, gender neutral set!

I love this 12 piece set. All the prints are so fun and colorful, and the pants can be all be used with different onesies. They are gender neutral too, without giving “graybe” vibes, which I can’t stand. The is perfect for my 4.5 month old and I feel he will be able to use these at least for another two months (50i-ish percentile size). We adored this set! It was so awesome to receive multiple pieces that we would need for this little one’s size that they just grew into and helped eliminate a lot of extra spending and shopping. My favorite part about this set is that all of the pieces can be mixed and matched and will still look so put together, and that it would be cute on any gender!

Perfect Versatile Set!

I absolutely LOVE a good mix and match set and this one checked all of the boxes. Sizing was right on for all of the items, the splashes of color were fun, and all items were of a good quality. The double zipper made diaper changes easy while my little one wore the zipper pajamas and I liked that the waistband on the pants weren’t too tight on his stomach. I would also consider this a gender neutral set, which can be hard to come by. This would be a great gift for any family!
