Overview

Description

Philips Avent bottles are made from pharmaceutical-grade borosilicate glass that’s heat and thermal-shock resistant. You can store them in the fridge, warm them up and sterilize without worry of breakage.

Wide and soft, the Natural Response nipples let baby control the flow of milk, similar to breastfeeding. The unique opening and only releases milk when baby actively drinks so when they pause to swallow and breathe, the milk pauses, too. This makes it easier to switch back and forth between breast and bottle feeding. They’re also a no-drip design to prevent lost milk.

The nipples have an Anti-colic valve designed to reduce the amount of air baby ingests while feeding, which helps with common issues like colic, reflux and gas.

What we  about it

5 Questions
Do they come with the anti-colic valves?

Best Answer:  These have nipples that have an anti-colic valve.

Do they have measurements for amount of milk on the bottle?

Best Answer:  They do have measurements on the side so you can easily check the amount of milk in the bottle.

Are these Microwave safe?

Best Answer:  We do not recommend using a microwave to warm up baby's food or drinks. Check this link for further information: https://www.usa.philips.com/c-f/XC000006523/can-i-use-a-microwave-to-warm-up-my-philips-avent-bottle

Are these compatible with the Spectra breast pump?

Best Answer:  The Spectra breast pump takes standard wide mouth bottles, so glass bottles from Philips Avent will connect directly to them. It's usually best to use plastic bottles though since it might get a bit too heavy with a glass bottle.

If they drop do they break ? Or is the glass pretty durable?

Best Answer:  These are made of real glass so they can break if you drop them. It should take a lot before it breaks.

One of the better bottles tried
I actually like that these nipples are harder for the baby to get milk (size 2) as I am combo feeding and find that if its too easy he is either wearing the milk or gets lazy at the breast. I also like the idea of the glass bottles but the only downside is the bottles are heavy. The same version in plastic is much lighter.

This company changed their nipples. You need a level 3 or 4 for newborn babies. I say pick a different bottle and not fool with it since the nipples have changed

Glass bottles are ok but a bit heavy. I would just get the plastic bottles.

In the first week home with our newborn, our baby wasn't gaining weight even when supplementing with bottles. During an appointment with a lactation consultant we found that these nipples were way too slow. It was hard to even get liquid to come out when squeezing the nipple with my fingers. As a first time mom I didn't think to consider the bottles as part of the issue and was pretty disappointed at the extra stress they added on those first couple days. Our lactation consultant and physical therapist did not recommend the nipple shape so we didn't try a faster flow.

Baby gets tired latching - do not recommend
My 1 week old had trouble sucking on the bottle. It was so hard the it took her 1hour to finish 1.5oz. We thought something was wrong with her latching until we switched to another bottle and it only took her 20mins then.

The product did not arrive as expected. I’m disappointed, but I’m hopeful that customer service will resolve the issue quickly. Better communication would improve the experience. This is the third attempt to get someone to respond, or better, ship the bottles that I paid for.

I like the wide neck & glass aspect of the bottle however I very much dislike the amount of ounces my son has worn due to the horrible leaking issues these bottles have. Even when the airflow vent is matched up the bottle still ends up all over him. Only ever hand washed the bottles so expected a better outcome.

Constantly leak and I had to stop using one bottle completly bc the threads were not right and the lid wouldn’t screw on correctly kinda bummed bc I expected more out of a bottle that is as expensive as they are.

I chose a 1 star because the only thing I like about these bottles are that they are glass. The nipples are so hard for my newborn to suck that she can't get any milk out and wears herself out so much that she just sleeps and won't eat enough. I bought what I thought would be enough bottles so that we could use just the Philips Avent bottles and also newborn and size 3 nipples. My newborn can't even suck the milk out of the size 3 nipples. Now I am scrabbling trying to find a nipple that will
