Bugaboo Turtle by Nuna Car Seat Review

One of the golden rules of newborns is try not to disturb them in their happy place. But that’s really hard when you have to buckle and unbuckle and lift them in and out of a car seat every time you need a coffee fix or a Target run. For this reason, lots of parents opt for infant car seats (which come right out of the car and clip directly into your stroller. No unbuckling needed). But infant car seat and stroller compatibility can be tricky, and often requires separate adapters.

That’s why Bugaboo paired up with Nuna to create the new Bugaboo Turtle by Nuna infant car seat. It integrates seamlessly with the Bugaboo Fox stroller and features a bunch of smart design elements to ensure your baby will be safe and comfortable throughout their travels. More importantly, if you have a little one who nods off the second your tires hit the pavement, the Bugaboo Turtle ensures they’ll stay that way (even when you have to move them around).

Babylist Scout Manny took the Turtle for a test drive and shares more info in the video above.

Why We Love It:

  • No adapter needed: The Turtle clicks seamlessly into Bugaboo’s Fox stroller without an adapter (yay for one less part to lose!). And with the car seat base, you can go straight from your car to your stroller without ever having to wake a snoozing infant.
  • A smarter visor: Flip open the extended canopy and your baby can relax in their own private car seat cabana. And with no loud zippers, Velcro or snaps, you never have to worry about accidentally waking them when you pull down the shade.
  • Taxi time: City dwellers will be grateful for the Turtle’s European belt path, which allows you to easily install the car seat using a standard seatbelt. No base needed.
  • Safety first: The Bugaboo Turtle installs with both the LATCH system or a seat belt, and features an added stability leg that’s designed to minimize impact in the event of an accident.
  • Day one ready: The Bugaboo Turtle supports babies from 4-32 lbs and comes ready to install with a car seat base, infant insert, shoulder straps and crotch cover for snug and comfortable riding.

Keep In Mind:

  • The Bugaboo Turtle is an infant car seat, so you’ll need to replace it when your baby reaches 32 lbs or 32 inches.
  • The Bugaboo Turtle is only compatible with Bugaboo’s Fox stroller and is only available in the United States (not Canada).
