The Contender Slim Convertible Car Seat features two modes of use to grow with little ones from rear-facing harness (5-40 lbs) to forward-facing harness (26.5-65 lbs).
The slim car seat design helps save space in your back seat, while the lightweight design easily transfers from car to car. It’s also certified for aircraft use.
The Simply Safe Adjust harness system allows the headrest and harness to adjust together in one motion. The included LATCH and easy-to-read level indicator also help make installation easier.
This car seat features a removable, dishwasher-safe cup holder, a machine-washable seat pad and two recline positions for ease of use.
It’s Graco ProtectPlus Engineered to help protect in frontal, side, rear and rollover crashes.

Best Answer: Yes, the base is integrated into the design. Only infant car seats have a separate removable base.

Travel size but not flimsy

This car seat is so lightweight and easy to install, we first bought it for travel but now we use it as an everyday car seat. We like it so much we have one for each of our kiddos!

Purchased as a second seat for travel. Fit well on airplane seat without issue, easy to buckle/tighten/unbuckle. 4/5 because the clips for installing to anchors are really frustrating to use and get tightened appropriately, much more challenging than our usual seat (extend-2-fit). We have a tall kid we want to keep rear-facing as long as possible so would still purchase again.

Spacious but limited

I was surprised there are only two positions, just didn't read the description closely enough, I guess! We use this as a travel/grandparent's car seat so it isn't our every day car seat but I wish it had more recline settings/positions and a tab or way to keep the car seat straps off to the side before you put the child in. Overall it still seems comfy for our little one and much lighter than our day-to-day car seat.

Recently purchased this for travel specifically. It's much lighter than our standard car seat. It feels sturdy but is might more lightweight which makes it great for travel.

Stop Sleeping on the Contender

I don't see this carseat mentioned very much online, but it's been great for us so far! It's pretty lightweight, fits well in our sedan, and my son seems comfortable. I'm looking forward to using it next time we travel, and hopefully it will work for us for many years!

Great for travel

I bought this car seat for travel and it’s been amazing! Light weight, easy to install, and my toddler likes it more than his regular car seat. I just bought a second one for my newborn. It feels sturdy, harness is easy to use, and forward and rear facing install has clear instruction for recline position.
