I currently have a Hatch Rest+. Does this work similarly to that model? What are the differences?
Best Answer: Yes, it works very similarly to your Rest+. Both offer sound, a customizable nightlight, routines, time-to-rise cues, and app/Wi-Fi control. The main difference is portability: the standard Hatch Rest (2nd Gen) must stay plugged in, while the Rest+ has a rechargeable backup battery; the Rest+ 2nd Gen also has a charging base and up to 12 hours of battery life.
Do you have to use your phone to control? ?
Best Answer: No, you can control basic functions like power, volume, sound and light directly on the device, while the Hatch app is needed for setup and more advanced features like schedules, Favorites and customization.
How is the lighting? Would you say to bright?
Best Answer: The Hatch Baby sound machine's light is fully adjustable, so it doesn't have to be bright. You can choose from multiple colors and set the brightness from a very dim glow to a brighter light through the app or the device controls. Many parents use a low red, amber, or warm light setting overnight because it's gentle enough for feedings and diaper changes without being overly stimulating.
What sounds does this machine have?
Best Answer: The Hatch Baby Sound Machine includes 11 built-in sounds:
White Noise
Ocean
Rain
Birds
Wind
Water
Dryer
Fan
Forest Lake
Calm Sea
Thunderstorm
It also includes three lullabies:
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
Brahms' Lullaby
Rockabye Baby
Does this sound machine have the hush/shhush sound like the portable one?
Best Answer: Yes. The Hatch Baby Sound Machine (Putty) includes the Hush sound, just like the portable Hatch Go. In addition to Hush, it offers a library of other sleep sounds such as white noise, heartbeat, ocean waves, rain, and more through the Hatch app.
Is there a sleep timer?
Best Answer: Yes, the Hatch Baby sound machines include a sleep timer.
Do you need a subscription to change the light colors? What basic features are included without subscribing?
Best Answer: You can use the core features without a subscription, including playing built-in sounds, adjusting volume and night light color/brightness, setting basic schedules like time-to-rise, and controlling everything through the app or buttons on the device. The subscription is only needed for extra content like expert sleep programs, sound stories and sleep insights.
Can this work on battery power without being plugged in? ?
Best Answer: Hatch Baby will need to be plugged in and does not come with a battery back up.
Does this require a subscription with the app to have full use of everything for the hatch?
can you link your spotify Playlist with this machine as I have created soothing christian songs of my own?

Love it!
We love our new Hatch Baby! It works very well and my daughter is loving her bedtime stories! ❤️❤️❤️ My only suggestion for the future would be for it to have a battery back up!

Nice sound machine
Nice quality sound machine! Nice appearance and fairly easy to use, I do wish more adjustments could be made on the machine versus having to go into the app so often. The app is a little slow at times

don’t like app and subscription
I was so excited to get the Hatch Baby because all my friends who are parents told me about it. Then when I got it, I was so disappointed to discover that the only way I can use it is with my phone. Even if I choose not to get a subscription and I just use the basic features, I still have to control it with an app. I hate how everything is dependent on a phone nowadays. Aside from that, I like the various color options for the light, and I like some of the sounds and music, but a lot of the…

This is the first time we’ve bought a hatch baby since our newborns arrival and it’s really the best thing ever!! I love all the seamless soothing sounds, the lights are easy to turn bright or dim, and its easy to manage it all on the app!

We love our new hatch sound machine even more than the one we had before! We appreciate that hatch sent us a new one once our first one died. Good not be more grateful for a better brand!
