While the button controls on top are a nice addition, this feels like a major step backward in functionality: HATCH REMOVED THE BATTERY BACKUP FEATURE!!!
Unfortunately, we found out the hard way. During a power outage, the sound machine shut off completely—and so did our baby’s sleep.

It comes with a free 6 month account of special features.
Daughter set up Hatch in preparation for baby's arrival in advance and unfortunately baby was in NICU for 4 weeks and so although not used . . . one month of free trial was lost.
Would be nice to have a redo remedy for the 6 month subscription.
