Doesn’t lay flat
I wanted to love this as a non-toxic option for our Halo bassinet however it didn’t lay flat. It’s almost puffy in certain areas and our itty bitty newborn was rolling off to the side because it wasn’t flat. As soon as we put the old mattress back in the issue resolved. Returned this one. Still going to buy a Naturpedic crib mattress for the big crib but the bassinet option definitely needs work. FWIW we also have a twin size for our toddler and it’s great and so comfy!

A must buy!
Our newborn sleeps really well on this bassinet mattress. The original Halo mattress seems like it would be uncomfortable and full of unhealthy materials. This replacement fits perfectly in our halo, is breathable, and the materials are safe for our little one. Make sure you get the cover too! We are very happy with this purchase!

Is not 18 inches as advertised
Leaves a gap on the sides of the mattress pad, which goes against safety recommendations. The product is advertised as 18 inches but it clearly measures 17 inches at its largest width even with the cover on.

Not worth it even if it came for free
I don’t understand how this is better than the one it comes with.. it feels so stiff- at first I thought it was just the cover and the inside was to throw away. Wish I hadn’t spent the money

Peace of mind
Baby sleeps super well on this mattress, and so do we (as best we can anyway with a newborn haha) knowing she's safe. We found the item description a little confusing: does breathable mean nice air flow for cool sleep/ body temp regulation or does breathable mean if my face is smushes into the mattress can baby breathe. The answer is both which is exactly what we wanted.
The only "issue" we had off the hop was experimenting with cloth diapers we had quite a few leaks to begin and washing…

I don't recommend this
I don't really recommend this mattress. The crib mattress is great, but this mattress isn't as good. It has indentations where my baby sleeps even though he has only been sleeping in it for less than 2 months. It doesn't feel like a huge upgrade from the mattress that was included with the bassinet that I purchased.
