You at 21 Weeks Pregnant: Your Body and Mind

Let's talk: documenting your pregnancy

21 weeks is a nice time to start thinking about whether or not you’d like to do a maternity shoot, so you can plan ahead. But you might be wondering: when is the ideal time to take photos? Photographer Maria Childs recommends 30-34 weeks for women with uncomplicated pregnancies: “Generally, during this time of pregnancy, you’re feeling comfortable, and looking your best, the beautiful baby bump is showing, and you can still move around without too many issues.”

And if you’re wanting to document your pregnancy, but are hesitating on the cost (as well as posing for a stranger) we have 11 helpful tips from our own Maddie Eisenhart, who has worked as a professional photographer, for conducting your own DIY session when you’re ready. (By the way: we loved this impromptu maternity photoshoot at the hospital that went viral, just for something fun.)
