Overview
Description
Esembly diapers are made up of two products: an absorbent Inner (sold separately) and a waterproof Outer.
Waterproof yet breathable, Esembly Outers are soft, stretchy and trim-fitting.
The Outer is the part of the diaper that provides the containment. If anything sneaks past the Inner, you can rest assured it won’t go beyond the Outer.
The unique structure of the fabric allows for optimal transmission, so that the fabric releases vapor and heat while your baby is wearing it, keeping them comfortable longer.
Outers come in two sizes and are designed to grow with your baby. Two rows of snaps at the waist allow you to adjust the size of the waist independently from the openings at the legs. This enables you to get a perfect fit on babies with big round bellies and skinny legs, and vice versa.
As an added bonus, Outers can be used on their own (with no Inner underneath) as a swim diaper, or over disposables to contain frequent leaks and blowouts.
Here’s how it works:
- Put a fresh Inner on baby at each change.
- Cover the Inner with a waterproof Outer to make a diaper.
- Change an awake baby every 2-3 hours, or immediately if poop is detected.
- To accommodate long nighttime sleep stretches, boost the absorbency of your diaper with an Overnighter (sold separately).
- When soiled, put in the Pail Pouch until your laundry day.
If cloth diapering full-time, they recommend having 24 Inners and 6 Outers. Inners require laundering after each use, whereas Outers can be used multiple times before washing.
Launder your Inners and Outers every 2-3 days using Esembly Washing Powder (or similar clean-rinsing detergent) as per the Esembly’s 4-step wash instructions.

Great cover! My only complaint is that they are not completely waterproof. My daughter will start leaking if the diaper is on for more than a couple hours.

Overall the outer covers are pretty great. The parchment color is a nice neutral color for my daughter to wear under a dress, while I also love the fun patterns like the quilt squares. I will say the covers are not completely waterproof as I hoped, as they will start leaking if the diaper is on for more than a couple hours.

We love these covers; while we have only been using for a few weeks, they seem like good quality and are easy to clean. And huge plus that they double as a swim diaper. We only wish we had sized up, as these do leave a red mark on our 4. 5 month-old on the loosest setting; we will purchase the next size up and hope that does the trick!

I love these diapers so much! The main draw to try these diapers in the first place was because they are one of the only cloth diapers on the market made of cotton and not plastic which is a win! Not only that but they are so easy to snap on and grow with your baby. So many other cotton diapers I’ve seen had way too many sizes you’d have to purchase to grow with your baby. I love that there are only 2 sizes with Esembly. These are also so nice because as my child is more mobile and harder to get…
